When it's time for a full meal, most of the restaurants here don't require reservations, but you'll definitely want to book ahead for seats at Japanese venue Himitsu.

Guests may prefer to book their own airport transfers from Cancun International Airport (CUN), as shared journeys can be lengthy, dropping off passengers at various different resorts.

Relaxing getaway

It felt like a tv commercial, laying on the beach underneath a palapa with your cold beverage in hand. You occasional get to see some fish in the clear 85 degree water when ever you decided to cool off. If you need help relaxing the hydrotherapy and massages at the spa will do it. The food was excellent, but timing is everything. Their is a time in the late afternoon where its just pre-made sandwiches at the cafe or room service. Some restaurants are closed each night and most don't take reservations. When they are open they go quickly from being seated immediately to a 45 minute wait. Also the restaurants don't have a bar to wait in.

The snorkel excursion you sign up for the pool is a better deal than the trips you pay for in the lobby with the concierge.. For half the price you are just a 10 minute boat ride away from the snorkeling. The other trips are good but involve a 45 minute shuttle ride to and from the hotel to the boat for your snorkeling trip.

Just an OK stay

My stay was just ok. When we arrived the prized Maroma beach reeked from seaweed. The entry level rooms are small. Food was OK for an all inclusive. The REALLY great point was NO TOWEL game to get a spot at the pool. Would only go back at a great deal !

Fantastic Couples Vacation W / Friends

This is our fourth trip to Secrets Maroma with our friends. This year, there were 13 of us from Texas. The beach is the best in the entire area. The restaurants, bars, activities, and entertainment were fantastic. Two great large beachside pools, one with swim-up bar. Top shelf liquor, etc. Although the beautiful beach is why we go there, we keep coming back for the outstanding service, especially for drinks and food on the beach. The entire staff couldn't have been better." You will not be disappointed. Make sure that you see the "Mental Magician" in the loby bar on Manager's night. I can assure you it's not your average magic act. I'm sure you have already seen the room pictures, but the rooms are large, high end classy, with travetine floors, plenty tile etc

Don't miss the Mental Magician at the loby bar on Manager's Night. He will do a 15 minute show at your table that will blow you away. Also, good idea to get reservations asap at the Japaneese restaurant if you like the Hibachi table concept. Our 13 person group ate there this trip and had a great time. The Sake may have helped.

Great Couple and friends property.

This property is a great place for couples and friends. It is just the right size, intimate, but large enough to meet new friends. We have been going to Mexico for thirty years. We did not need to leave the property for any reason, for every thing we wanted was there. Service and people out-standing, food good, and entertainment a plenty.

Paradise

This was our third year at Ssecrets Maroma Beach, and, although I didn't think it was possible, it keeps getting better. Outstanding service, food, and facility. The beach is pristine and never a problem getting chairs, even though the hotel was near capacity. We were with a party of 19, and all can't wait to return next year.

First Time in Mexico!

This was my first trip to Mexico, and it was a blast! I went to Secrets Maroma for six nights with a group of friends. We spent most of our time at the beach or pool enjoying drink after drink. The service is outstanding. Everyone is very friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you with anything you need. The entertainment staff, especially [...], helped make the daily and nightly activities a lot of fun. The quality of the food at the restaurants is excellent. My personal favorite was the Japanese restaurant - I highly recommend making a reservation for one of the hibachi tables. The 4th of July party was also a lot of fun.I had only a few issues with the resort. First, it primarily caters to couples (especially honeymooners) and not groups of friends. At the steakhouse, the host staff seemed had difficulty putting together a table for six when the restaurant opened for the night (with few tables taken at that time). On a related note, the the disco and lobby bar aren't open late - only till 1 AM - and even by then, just about everyone has retired for the night. As a result, the resort doesn't lend itself to wild nights. Also, the music at the pool could be improved a little. The music sounds as though the entertainment staff heard about the concept of playing music by a pool without actually seeing it done firsthand. It would have been nice to hear more beach-themed music (i.e, Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett). But despite these minor setbacks, I really enjoyed my stay at Secrets Maroma and would definitely like to come back next year.

If you were traveling with a large group of people, plan to arrive at the restaurants right when they open to make sure you get a table at which everyone can sit.
