Sunny Secrets Capri
Two Dollar George Dec 17, 2009
Enjoyed the restaurants and hobie craft. Beach needed major attention with roots and rocks protruding out. Not sure what ... was beyond them in the water. Most of the staff were kind and friendly. A few were rude at times. The entertainment staff keeps the place going within their suggested limits. Evening entertainment is fine for the first time visitor to Mexico. However, it is the same old same old after many visits to that area. Food was quite good. However, Palace Resorts have a jump over Secrets Capri when it comes to hospitality and friendliness by everyone. Pool floor was terrible with people cutting their feet on the tiled bottom. Needs major work. Our garden view was terrible. Would not return since they would not budge on a room change. Also, ants and tiny insects in the bathroom sink area.

Boris The Spider Dec 14, 2009
We stayed there Dec. 6-13. Gorgeous resort - relatively small, quiet, very relaxing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Some ... remember your name and eating habits, like me who does not like to get coffee in the beginning of breakfast because it gets cold fast. The beach is great, but sometimes you can step on a piece of wood or a rock on the edge of the water. I found water shoes helpful in this situation. There is plenty of space at the beach, but next to pool the space is more crowded and too open to the sun. You can get the best spot if you come early. Pouring rain in morning of our departure brought a terrible sewer smell from the woods nearby (we had a room on the first floor facing south). Otherwise the resort is the best and me and my wife will definitely visit it again. Italian and Japanese restaurants are the best, I also liked the Seaside Grill. Two nights we had a buffet dinner served by the pool followed by shows. The fire show is very impressive, the Mexican dances are OK.
Traveler type: Couples
Make reservations for hibachi in the Japanese restaurant, regular tables don't require reservations. Take dinner at 7:00pm to avoid waiting with a pager if you come after 8:00pm

Chadwick Dec 13, 2009
Excellent small hotel with attentive and fun staff. Dinners were good and breakfast and lunches great. Nice wine list for ... upcharge but free wine was ok too. Pool and beach service was excellent. Anyone will bring you drinks, food, umbrellas... around pool or beach whenever you want. ocean swimming was poor, but that would be the only negative of this resort. I did see plenty of people swimming, but with stumps and roots in shallow water it looked a little dangerous. Just down maybe 20 yds from resort ocean looked safer. Great time and we will be back.

frugal but willing to spend for value Dec 2, 2009
This was our third visit to Secret's Capri. We have been to other all inclusive resorts in the Cancun area and can say that ... for the price, there is no better value. For my wife and I, our main interest is to just walk on the beach, lay at the pool, read, and enjoy the food. Service was excellent. The staff recognized that we had returned after being away for two years and our room was upgraded. They presented us with a beautiful flower arrangement, and a bottle of chanpage with assorted chocolates. People may feel service is a bit slow compared to the states, but your on vacation, enjoy the meal! I would recommend Secrets for the value that you recieve.

travelin sue Nov 25, 2009
this all-inclusive should have included all tips, however the staff did not perform as well without a tip and some were rude ... if not tipped. the hotel is on 71 acres, however most of the property is hidden in front of the building, and not available to guests. the beach was not very wide, and the water was not clear as expected in the carribean. the worst was finding not one but glass on the beach every time we went for a walk. the food was absolutely incredible if you did not pass out waiting for a table and someone to serve you. the hotel did not offer a buffet meal option except at breakfast. the dinner was without reservations, which meant you waited sometimes over an hour, while there were empty tables. when you did sit down at a table the experience was like mickey d's not a 4 or 5 star resort. the waiter took your order, filled your water glass removed your plates, that's it! never offered if everything was ok and some did not offer desert!! the website listed newspaper delievered daily -did not happen. also listed were alcohol refilled in room - did not happen. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!! NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!!
