Nice Mellow Place
I stayed at this hotel with my husband. It was the cheapest hotel on the strip in Tulum. It is a smaller hotel which we like all the rooms have an ocean view. The staff is very nice about making you feel right at home. This place is for the simple traveler. The room we stayed in was on ground level and our doors opened right onto the sand. There is a little bar on the beach at the hotel that makes good cheap drinks. They don't serve breakfast but if you ask for coffee in the morning they will gladly make it for you. Everywhere in Tulum will have salt water showers and the electricity shuts off mid day. But we were on the go during the day or at the beach. this was a great hotel.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
The restaurants in Tulum where all the hotels are at are pretty expensive. If you take a short drive to town there are a lot of authentic places to each that don't burn a hole in your wallet.

This is my 3rd time in Yucatan and second in Tulum. I really enjoyed the experience at Parayso. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with amazing views. Great value, top location, inexpensive budget. I can't wait to go back to Parayso!

Parayso
The beach was literally one step out of my front door. Roman the hotel manager was a little creepy and pushy. Told us every day he would get us a taxi/beer/tours. He just wanted a cut of the cash. Room was kinda gross but the bed was comfortable, gave us fresh bottles of water everyday, shower was cold salt water but we figured out that if you turn kn the kitchen sink while showering t will be warm in the shower. I recommend it but not if you're spoiled traveler.

Way overrated.
Was charged 194. for the night [...]. When got there, there was a sign in book with couples paying half per night. Building construction poor. Sand blowing in room fron cracks in walls and under patio door. Bathroom outdated. Coffee served in an old large coffee brewer with no milk and a brown school lunch tray with cafeteria mugs. Folks wiorking there very nice. Gazebo at beach not open and falling apart. Pool very nice. Place just not kept up at all. A group of drunk men came up to sleep on the patio of the room next to ours and we had to scare them away and fearful and up half the night. Very bad experience.

this place will test a good marriage
when we arrived there was no one that could speak english or new if we had a reservation. A nice person did show us to a room. The air conditioner would not turn off with remote, had to get the security guard to pull the breaker. The bath room was small and no way to get extra towels. The only good thing about the stay was the restaurant next door. The staff were nice but not were not given the tools to support customers

Incredible!
It is incredibly beautiful! Directly at the beach with white sand and beautiful warm water. The owners were very friendly and gave us some great tips what to do and how to get around. The room was simple and not very large, but we didn't want to stay inside anyway ;). And for the good price I didn't expect a huge room anyways. We went in October which is off-season and it was very very peaceful! It felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves and we often were the only customers in the nearby restaurants. Perfect if you need a quiet time to relax! We rented a car for 2 days to explore Tulum, Coba, Xel-Ha and some Cenotes. I can encourage everyone to do that, since there are only 2-3 restaurants and tiny shops in walking distance. The roads were in great condition, just watch out for the speed bumps! I'd come back here anytime!

Culture Connection
12 hour electricity was not a real problem for us. We spent days snorkeling, swiming, shopping, walking, visiting archeological sites, eating or just reading. Electricity comes on about 6:30 PM and off again about 8:00 AM. This hotel has a nice pool, but it does not really have a spa. Internet connection was spotty. No coffee maker in the room as advertised, although good quality coffee is supplied in a central location by staff each day. There may have been once, but there is no longer a restaurant on site. Rooms are very clean. Maid service is excellent and always a smile and kind word. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They were willing to do whatever they were able to make our stay comfortable. Many other guests were Mexican which added to the enjoyment and cultural connection. It was fun to meet other folks. Price was very competitive for the Tulum Beach area. No complaints about cost. Location is as convenient as expected for this region. Security is rather impressive for the size of the hotel. Many super restaurant choices on the beach and downtown Tulum. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not looking for a gated community with a full menu of health spa and food services.
