Operated by Spanish brand, H10 hotels, the Ocean Coral All Inclusive Resort means what it says all meals, mini-bar treats and drinks are included in the price. Open, circular spaces are filled with light, while the suites themselves come in bright shades to match the exotic flora of the Mexican Caribbean. The Internet-enabled business center serves business professionals away from home, and recreation spots include four pools, several volleyball courts, Latino dance lessons, and free on-site diving lessons. Dine tepanaki-style in the low-lit ambience of Japanese Sensai restaurant before retiring to the thermal pools in the Despacio Spa.

Summer Getaway

Overall the resort was great, especially for the money we paid. For a relatively inexpensive week long trip to relax this resort was perfect. The grounds were all well kept and the pools were great. The food and drinks were good for an all-inclusive. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating you just have to be sure to avoid the time share sales people. The only complaint we had was all the seaweed on the beach, but there's not much they can do about that.

Amazing Trip

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very nice. The food was excellent, the drinks were okay. Start your day off with a shot (or more) of Tequila in order to get a buzz. The beach wasn't the best. a lot of kelp washed ashore but we didn't spend much time there so it was the least of my worries.

Budget Vacation

The Food - AMAZING The Beach - a lot of seaweed, the water was not as breath taking as Cancun The Property - was beautiful always something to do or see The Room - Freezing at night - called the front desk they said the air conditioning does not heat the room, even seemed surprised by the question For what we paid I think this was very adequate. It was a great vacation. The area is low key and relaxing.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

On the beach there are people selling cheaper excursions to different places. They are cheaper than the Hotel. Also we used USA Transfers to move us from the airport to the Hotel. They were absolutely amazing and low price!

Great family trip

The hotel offers great value for the money. It is well maintained and the staff is very friendly, courteous and accommodating. They work hard to create a positive environment and experience. Food for the most part was good. It was easy to get into the buffets, which were plentiful, but tended to serve the same items daily. For variety, you can hit the various restaurants, which at times can be difficult to get into if you are not a Privilege member, who are able to make reservations. We waited in line a few times (about 20 minutes to half hour before they opened for dinner), and it seemed to help in getting us in sooner. The best restaurants were Sensai, Blue Moon, Hacienda Los Girasoles and Mike's Coffee. Entertainment is plentiful and the accommodations are comfortable. We also took advantage of the scuba trips - both off the coast and at Isla Mujeres (a half hour drive to the north and then leisurely hour boat ride away as part of a day trip). They both were a blast and the tour guides were fun and engaging. Many positives for the whole trip. On the down side, the only thing we would say here is that the beach tends to get overrun by seaweed, which can make swimming immediately off the shore not as great as perhaps other places. But it was not a deal breaker. Also, solid choices on beverages and liquors with exception of beer. All you could get was Corona. It would be nice to have at least one other variety. Finally, the rooms on the lower floors can smell a bit musty due to the damp air. To help mitigate this, they provide dehumidifiers in the rooms, which helps. Overall, we would go back.

You get what you pay for

At Ocean Corral, you get the value of what you pay for. It is not the most expensive hotel around, and therefore it is not the most amazing, but it was still not too bad. I give the staff here the highest review, they were always very kind and polite and quick to fulfill your needs. Everything you would ask, they would answer with "Sure, my pleasure!" We had a problem with our room at the very beginning of our trip, somehow pesky mosquitoes were breaking in and eating us all night. We complained to the front desk right away, but they said that that was normal for Mexico in July. We tried stuffing towels under the doorways and sprayed bug spray everywhere but that didn't help. We complained a few times but were told that it was normal, that everyone is having the same problem. Around day 5 of our trip, maintenance showed up to fix our ac. Apparently, it was not pulling out the air so the humidity was staying in the room, and mosquitoes love humidity so that explained that, and after that moment we did not have a single problem with the mosquitoes. Yes, very unpleasant situation, but as it was our honeymoon we tried not to let that upset us. Lots of restaurants to choose from, but eventually all the food started tasting the same to us so we got tired of the food by the end, but it wasn't all that bad. The entertainment was lame. We went to their music show that was supposed to be some of the most popular musicians of all time. All they did was turn on the singer's song and "danced" to it. So we tried to do lots of activities outside of the resort so we wouldn't get too bored and overall, we enjoyed our Riviera Maya/Cancun stay. Ocean Corral gives a good value for your dollar, especially if you're travelling with your family. If it's just 2 of you looking for a romantic getaway, this may not be the best place for you as it is a family resort.

Would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Loved that you didn't have to reserve for the a la carte restaurants, the buffet was good too. We kept mostly to the quiet end of the beach but wish we had spent more time at the activity pool. The room was nice - only complaint was that there weren't any king bed rooms left but we managed. The activities / entertainment staff was great - we became friends with a couple of them - Mitsael and Jovanni - nothing but friendship - they were so good to us!

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

The shows are definitely worth attending. We had stopped going to shows at other resorts as a lot were 'cheesy' but this was not the case here - they are definitely worth attending.

the people are the best

The resort is beautiful, the room is comfortable. The service is a little slower but not a big deal. The The workers there are friendly and tries their very best to make you happy. We forgot my eye drop and Luis at the member center offered to pick up a bottle at the local pharmacy on his way to work the next day. We had a small issue with faucet and the plumber came right away to fix it. The food in general is good but not great except for the "Fusion" restaurant, but that's for member only. The service at Fusion is outstanding. The location is not great, it's difficult to get around. If you want to spend a week in the sun at the resort, it's great. The beach is beautiful, plenty of seats. On some days, there is a lot of sea weed that accumulate, but I think that's due to the rain or strong wind. Several pools there and well maintained. There are plenty of things for kids and adults but not an easy access to the main road. The only negative thing I'd say is the time share sale pitch. They will spend hours trying to convince you to buy the time share. The system is very confusing and we were not sure how easy it is to use. After 3 hours, you just want to get out of there and back to your vacation. Even if you were to sign the contract, do you really want to spend more time reading it carefully? Just stay away from that, it's not worth the $100, just go and and enjoy your vacation.
