With a simple yet intimate beach retreat, the restful moments you've longed for won't be overshadowed by unnecessary distractions that are often common to other hotel locations.
Each Om Tulum Cabaa accommodation is fitted with a balcony or patio , which opens up to an inner garden with a hammock, and is only steps from the best beach in the world.
Amenities - , Reception, Beach Front Restaurant and Bar, Airport Transfer (additional Cost) and Beach Club.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Due to the remote location, the hotel is 100% self sufficient and being such produces their own electricity. Electricity runs from 8 am until 12 midnight, all guest rooms are provided with lanterns and candles for late night illumination. If you will be arriving or returning to the hotel after midnight, please make prior arrangement s with the staff. Please keep this in mind when deciding if OM Tulum Cabaas is right for you.

- Tulum, Mexico is located approximately 110 kilometers south of the Cancun Airport, and it takes about an hour and a half to drive there from the airport to the town of Tulum.
- Area description
- Om Tulum is located on beach strip of Tulum, Mexico. Be advised that due to the remote location there is no public transportation to the Hotel (Taxis are available at the highway) and the hotel is Self Sustaining, meaning all electricity is generated on site and there is no electricity between the hours of 12AM and 8:30 AM. Head south on Highway 307 towards Playa del Carmen (which is approximately 50 kilometers south of the Cancun airport). Once in Tulum go to the second light and take a left towards the beach (if you took a right you would be heading towards the Coba ruins). Go towards the beach and pass the local fire station on your left and you will then come to a T in the road with a local police station on your left. Take a right at the T and go approximately 5 kilometers, and you will see the sign for Om Tulum Hotel Cabanas and Beach Club on your left hand side.

- The flavors of the Caribbean were the main inspiration for Om Tulum Hotel Cabanas and Beach Club's restaurant. Highly recommended is the seafood grill infused with tropical salsas and vegetables.

- Other dishes that are equally delectable are the variety of fresh fish dishes, shrimp, lobster or Caribbean ceviches. They should not forget famous pork chop with mash potatoes. OM Tulum restaurant also has a wood burning oven which makes it authentic Neapolitan style thin crust pizzas. Mom's own recipe.

It's Just OK
I rushed to book this place and wasn't fully aware that OM's electricity is run by a generator. That means lights out at 11: 30 pm. And they don't come back on until 8 am the next morning. You do get a candle, though, for light during the midnight hours. Our candle's wick fizzled out and we couldn't get it re-lit so we had to use our cell phones for midnight bathroom breaks. It was kind of a bummer, considering there are other hotels on the beach that also run on generators 24 hours, so we could have booked those places instead (of course they do come at a slightly higher price but i'd pay it). Besides that, the hotel was fine. It was on the beach. The bartenders are nice and friendly. Oh, yeah there was a nice ocean breeze; it didn't really reach our closed-door room but we could definitely feel it from our patio. Free wifi was nice. All in all, it was just OK. I wouldn't stay there again but I appreciate their efforts to keep us happy and comfortable.

This was the friendliest, most accomodating and helpful staff I've ever encountered. Many many thanks for making my trip very memorable and restorative. I will definitely recommend OM and hope to return soon!
