It was okay
There was nothing special about this hotel. The customer service wasn't great. The food was good. The pool could have been a bit cleaner.

Went on a 5 day trip with my friend, I mean my sister, I mean my girlfriend, I mean my wife. Anyway, the hotel was huge. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Grounds were well maintained. There were a variety of food choices. Food was above average. Beach was big. Pools were nice. Lazy river was relaxing. All in all a very nice resort. Would definitely recommend. Just wanted to say thank's to the Iberostar staff for making our stay a pleasant one.

Loved this resort
We did alot of internet reading before this trip. And feel we must add our own comments for future travelers. The resort was wonderful. Some of the negatives we read - we did not experience - for example - while check in does take some time - the requirements are understandable and as there was no line - no problem. (Maybe IBS can request some of this necessary info via email prior to visit?). We opted NOT to take OBZ shuttle from Cancun airport - which was expensive for 6 guests and stops at each resort prior to your own - and took a monopoly / union taxi from Cancun airport - quicker and actaully less expensive than OBZ shuttle however it was a monoply therefore over priced - but you could negiotiate a return discount. When arriving at Playa Maya we made sit down dinner reservations immediately with our house concierge. Strongly recommend the sit down restaurants. While the resort was only 55 % capacity - they must have reduced the wait staff accordinginly therefore the dinner reservations times were limited but we were happy to work around it as the meals were delicous and the wait staff delightful. Only possible negative I can think of was the pool tile's grout near the swim up bar was a bit yukky however after sitting upon the stool for a while, the little imperfection dissolved into my Mojito.

Long walk from hotel
We were traveling with my 78 year old dad. While healthy, his legs do get tired and this resort is huge. With a little $2 tip to the bus boys and golf cart drivers each time we found the golf cart driving bus boys at our beck and call. Each time we needed to get to the lobby from our "house" we simply dialed the conciegre and the golf cart quickly appeared. A small tip goes a long way. Bring lots of small demoniinations and share small bits often and you will become popular. Little bit more often gets noticed at an all-inclusive.

relaxing retreat
Exceptionally designed and groomed grounds with acres of water, tropical flora and some unusual wildlife to enhance it. Immaculately kept. Friendly staff. Functional rooms. Plentiful and varied food in many restaurants that never felt crowded. Reasonable fitness center. The place is very large and designed to disperse people so as not to feel congested.

iberostar - mexico - paraiso complex
we have been to iberostar paraiso complex 6 times and just love it. we have stayed at 4 of the 5 hotels and truely love the delmar the best. the food is good, not great, the rooms are good but the beds are very hard and a little known fact is that you can get a soft mattress pad if you ask. the people that work there are the very best. there is always something to do there. the beach is beautiful and clean and suprisingly the sand is not hot on the feet. the nightly entertainment is so much fun and changes every night. the grand is truly that but i really don't like to stay there. the hotel is beautiful and the food is over the top for every meal but sometimes just too fancy. the people that stay there are boring and stiff. the shows are terrific. the pool is beautiful and huge but too cold to get in so everyone hangs out at the hot tubs on the 4 corners. i would certainly recommend this complex to everyone. it is a gated community and safe. no need to leave the area unless you want to. they are making alot of personnel changes in the next few months so i hope it stays the same. we love going there and usually go 2 times in the spring. our son is getting married there this march so we will be going back again very soon and can't wait.

Great Family trip
This hotel is VERY big, but you always feel good, because it's well staffed to take care of your needs. Minor in-room problems were resolved withing half an hour, rooms are clean, and towel animals were very nice touch. We had a concierge desk at our building, so all our questions were answered right there without going all the way to front desk. Everything from check -in to pick up went smooth. Our child was very impressed with wave pool, splash park, scuba lessons, lazy river, beach and pool activities, and so on. He wants to come back soon. It was an end of December, but the weather was great and ocean water warm.

Good Time
This was a family holiday vacation with kids 12, 10 and 8. We all had a very good time and would recommend the Iberostar to families looking for a fun beach/pool environment where kids can roam freely and parents can relax. The staff was excellent - very friendly and accommodating. The food was okay - good selection, fair quality. The rooms were fine. The complex was very nice - well kept and easy to navigate. The beach is nice and the pools great - huge! Overall, a good trip and good time had by all.

We used the on-site company to add para-sailing and scuba diving to our activities - both recommended. We took a 2-hour scuba class then had two dives at 35' deep in a beautiful coral preserve that was exceptional.

A paradise with everything you need
We had a wonderful time. The massive size of this hotel blew us away and every inch of the place was clean and well kept. Being an animal lover it was nice to have cats, birds and these cute little creatures known as Coatis around. The variety of A La Carte restaurants made sure that every night of our 8 nights had something new to taste. We were only turned off by the Japanese restaurant but my wife who likes Sushi said that part was OK. The staff at this resort are cheery and extremely helpful. They are a great bunch. They didn't beg or expect tips but of course were appreciative when they received them. The beach was gorgeous. White sand and lots of lounge chairs, however I would have to say the water still had too many rocks for my liking. I know this is the Riviera but they need to get rid of those rocks. I heard Barcello has a nice sandy spot on their beach, so I was hoping that Iberostar would have the same. Overall it was still a lot better than some of the Riviera beaches with respect to rocks. It is definitely a place to go for a wonderful vacation.
