Not great for day care

We stayed here because of the day care for ages 1-2 (no other resort in the area has it) and it wasn't what we're used to. Not much air conditioning, closes in the middle of the day, not buttoned up, don't feed the kids so it was time consuming to pick them up for naps and food. We're used to receiving a sheet at the end of the day with everything they did too. Here, we were glad she was there, but she did look happy and the girls there loved her so the staff was great.

Relaxing Vacation in Paladium

This complex (4 hotels) is HUGE, so if you do not want to lose some calories walking - stay somewhere else. This complex has everything - nice beach, nice rooms (beds are a bit on firm side), restaurants, bars, entertainment, pools. Staff is extremely friendly (ok, few exceptions, so what :-) ) and efficient. What we particularly liked was that a la carte restaurant reservations were not necessary (unlike some places that you can have 2-3 reservations during your stay). Bottom line - if you want to find something to complain- you will find it. Otherwise, relax and let people at Grand Paladium spoil you!

Great destination for everyone!

I went with three friends. It was a girls week without the kids and husbands. We felt safe. The staff was very friendly. The resort is massive. Larger than I thought. I would recommend and go back.

first review ive ever written awful

This is the first review I have ever wrote. I am only writing this review because it was the worst resort I have ever been to. I have been all over. this was my third time in Mexico and the worst. the only thing that kept me happy was being with my fiancé. it is a nice resort when you look at it. all marble and nice lobby's and rooms. but........my sister in-law recommended this resort to me. she warned me there was a lot of walking which I didn't mind I am young and in pretty good shape. the walking was not the problem. the signs on the walk ways were very confusing. my fiancé and I got lost going in circles for 40 min in the middle of the jungle. the food was awful. I had to rent pants (no big deal) but I figured renting pants to go to the nice restaurant would be worth it. it was very cheap. I asked for another appetizer they told me I was only allowed one I even offered to pay. I order a steak it tasted like salt and was not at all cook well. it seemed like a steak from a fast food place. cooked frozen then heated up again. I can honestly say any meal was the worse food I have ever had. the front desk was not very nice either. I paid for a room with pool view or beach view. didn't get either. I asked for what I paid for they said it will be ready the 18th. one day before we left. our AC didn't work and the T.V. was from the 90's .. I will not be going back to this resort or any of its chains. it seemed like if you didn't speak Spanish they gave you no respect.

Very beautiful but be prepared for a lot of walking

The resort property is very clean and well maintained. It is set in a picturesque atmosphere with an abundance of flora and trails carved through the tropical jungle. The beach is very clean and we really enjoyed the seafront saltwater pool. My only complaints are that it is easy to get lost getting to your room especially at night, and there is lots of walking required to get around. There are golf carts that pick you up but we found they were inconsistent and random. Overall a great place to stay, but the resort is massive and you may be required to spend time figuring out the quickest ways to get around.

Just OK, Not WOW.

For the money I paid I expected a lot more. Room was large but pull out sofa bed was dirty and stained. Pillows were rock hard and you had to pay to get a better one from the pillow menu. Called 3 weeks in advanced to make sure my room was 2 double beds to accommodate 3 guests and was assured it was. Arrived to find a king and sorry cant switch us till the next day. Had to check out by 10am of our old room and couldn't get into a new room till check-in at 3pm. Ridiculous. No Poolside or beach wait staff. You have to get your own drinks and snacks. Staff was mostly uninterested in accommodating requests and questions. Hard to find coffee unless you go to the buffet or make in your room. Food was just OK. Service at restaurants was few and far between if they came to your table at all. If you go to 5th ave in Playa Del Carmen eat at a restaurant on the corner of 5th Ave and 30th. I forget the name something like El Alamente. Amazing! I would say if your only going to relax by the beach or pool and don't care about service then go here. Next time I will stay elsewhere.
