Excellence Riviera Cancun Luxury Adults Only - All Inclusive

I Can't say enough good things about this hotel. The food and bars are exemplary. The grounds is well maintained and the staff is friendly. No kids. Do not hesitate to book this hotel.

This place is by far the best resort we have stayed at! The grounds were amazing, stepping out on every corner, you would find a pool! Make sure you wake up early if you want a prime seat in the pool area! Food was amazing. Barcelona for lunch was excellent! Toscana is the best food (Italian), second came the Lobster House. Room service was superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the pools. the lazy river was salt water which was cool. Drinks were amazing. Alegria bar was fun! Hotel Check in was not a great experience, but everyone else was amazing! Love this place and would definately come back!

At checkin we were notified the Excellence Riviera Maya was overbooked. The staff uprgraded us to a nice room at the Excellence Playa Mujeres. What someone might be able to take from this review is that the staff is very accomodating and will do what they can to ensure your visit is wonderful.

The Excellence was a VERY PRETTY hotel. Everything was prefect. The staff was very friendly and did a great job. We loved the room service.

My wife & I spent 4 days last week at Excellence and loved every minute of it. The rooms were spotless. The service was impeccable and the food delicious (especially Chez Isabelle) We chose the excellence club and we loved having the separate pool. I would definitely recommend this for a romantic getaway.

Quite simply, the Excellence was the perfect place for our honeymoon. It is about 20 minutes from the Cancun Airport and about 35 minutes south of Cancun itself. This works out perfectly if you are looking for someplace away from the main city life, but close enough to go anywhere if you want to escape the resort (which we were surprised that we never wanted to leave except for once!) What we were looking for was someplace for adults only, several eating options, and beautiful grounds. As long as you are prudent about keeping your place locked (as it is the swim-ups that seem to have more problems) and also about not putting all your eggs in one basket so to say, you will be just fine. As for the resort itself, the grounds are very well kept. You will always see gardeners out taking care of the property and staff sweeping the walkways. The beach will have seaweed on it and the water is cloudy, but they do make an effort to have the beach raked by a giant tractor once a day. We had no problems with people hogging the beach beds or the floating mats, but we were also there in October, which is low season. The staff is extremely friendly and will do anything to make sure your stay is a good one. One piece of advice... if you find something that you dislike (i.e. not enough towels, room won't go cold enough, etc.) just call the front desk. They will get you taken care of! A majority of the staff will learn your names and all of them will greet you with an Hola and smile. My advice is to stay away from the swim-up rooms as they are not worth the extra money. Also, in speaking with a few other guests, the Excellence Club did not really offer anything that we didn't get in the regular suites. So my opinion is save your money by getting a regular junior suite and use it for an excursion. Other than that, it is a nice way to get to see some amazing ruins and see some of the beautiful natural areas that this region has to offer. Back to the hotel, several reviewers note that the beds are hard, this is true, but wasn't an issue for us. The sheets are a bit scratchy though. The restaurants are diverse enough that you will get plenty of selections to keep you happy for a weeks stay. One suggestion I have is that although this is an all inclusive resort, 20 peso's here and there go a long way for this staff. A few of the servers will get to know you well and will go out of their way to make your dinner as enjoyable as ever. If you like it, give 'em a few bucks. I understand that they are only making about $12 U.S. a day, and for what they did for us, I felt they deserved a little extra. Also in the room we would leave a tip every few days, and we always had prompt make-up service and perhaps it keeps the wandering hands at bay. Nonetheless, this resort was truly a great place to stay. There is a reason that it is the number one rated resort in the area. I say book it and you won't regret it!

The Excellence Riviera Cancun was a wonderful place for our honeymoon. We stayed in a junior suite room with a view of the spa. The room was spacious with a whirlpool tub and a huge shower. We had a great view of the spa and lazy river. The mini bar was restocked everyday with beer, pop, juices, and candy bars. The staff was wonderful. Anything we needed was taken care of. The food was excellent, especially the French (Chez Isabelle), Japanese (Spice), and Mexican (Agave) restaurants. We got great service at the bars as well. Moises at the swim-up bar and Carlos at the Cafe Kaffe were definately our favorite bartenders. The lazy river is a more quiet pool and the main pool has a little more activity going on. It is also only 15 minutes from the airport, so you are the first ones dropped off if you share transportation. We would definately recommend this resort to all of our friends.

Excellence Riviera Cancun was a wonderful experience. A beautiful, clean resort with a fantastic staff. All of the hotel staff was so friendly and provided wonderful service. The Spa was fantastic and the Spa prices were very resonable. Quick ride from the airport.

Our stay at the Excellence Riviera Cancun was the most wonderful week we've had in a long time. The resort is absolutely beautiful, the rooms were spacious, clean, and well stocked. The shower was big enough for 6 - 8 people! The maid service is exceptional - fresh towels after morning shower and then they are replaced again in the evening when the bed is turned down. When the bed is turned down, a schedule for the next days activities is left on the bed along with chocolates. When we got back to the room after the evenings festivities, it was nice to have the bed turned down. The little refrigerator in the room was always fully stocked. Water bottles were left in several places in the room. We had a large balcony to dry our swimsuits out on and had a lot of sitting room. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and funny. We laughed all week with them. Even received hugs and kisses the night before our departure. This resort has activities all throughout the day so you really never have to leave. We did leave on a few days for some excursions, which we purchased right on the resort grounds from AquaWorld. AquaWorld had many excursions available in which most included transportation and a meal. The food was superb. There were eight restaurants to choose from and we ate at them all, except for one. We were one night short of trying them all. The breakfast buffet had so many choices it was unreal! If you plan on dieting at this all inclusive resort - forget it! The drinks were fabulous as was the service at all of the bars. I honestly don't think I can say anything negative about this resort. It was fabulous the minute we stepped out of the van when we arrived to the minute we stepped back into the van to go back to the airport. We will go back again someday to this resort. We feel we picked one of the best resorts for our first time in Mexico. Another will be hard to compete with the Excellence Riviera Cancun!

As far as all inclusive goes EXCELLENCE RIVIERA CANCUN was a top notch getaway for my wife and I. Great room, great variety of restaurants with great food and if you just want to stay in 24hr room service with a well rounded menu. The staff was accommodating and fast to act on our every request. This resort made our vacation truly STRESS FREE which is really what we were looking for and so would recomend it to any looking to relax and be pampered [They also have a first class spa].
