Thieves!! Especially Feraltar transport!

Would not recommend Sat, Jan 9, 2016
Multiple times my friends and I had issues with lost and stolen wallets. My husband and I turned in a wallet we found left on a bar stool because we didnt realize it was my friend's wallet. After realizing the wallet was missing about 15 minutes later she went back to the bar where we had turned it in and they acted like they didn't know anything about it. It took her husband threatening to file a police report and then they magically found it but her cash was gone! Then at the end of my trip my wallet was stolen and they had footage of the security videos when it was stolen, but refused to release them, and now they won't respond to me anymore. I know it was the driver of Feraltar transportation based on the fact that my wallet was zipped into my luggage in front of the driver, he then loaded it into the van, and then after went in the back of the van again unattended while I searched for my checkout slip that I had been given earlier that day. Then when we got to the airport the wallet was gone! Do not ever use Feraltar transport (cancun-airport.net) they are all thieves! I had $815 cash in there and the company wouldn't respond to any of my emails. I called them and the representative said they were dealing with so many lost wallets and passports that they hadn't been able to respond to my emails! It has now been almost a month and they are still not responding and now when I call the same number I get a recording that says it is a non working number! Be very careful if staying at this resort and do not hire Feraltar for your transfers!

good trip

Would recommend Sun, Dec 27, 2015
Not my favorite, but would go again. Great food and drinks. Staff is awesome. Room was well lit, bed was comfortable. They have an 1875w blow dryer, but no vanity mirror. Didn't like bath gel or shampoo/conditioner. Shower was good. Pools were kind of small and 1 day not real clean. Beach has lots of rocks. Adult room with swim out pool was good.

Nice hotel but watch out for sales pitch

Would not recommend Wed, Dec 23, 2015
I have stayed in multiple resorts and when I booked this 5* hotel I had high expectations and they were not what I expected. I was hopeful for a nice relaxing vacation with my girlfriend and was not as relaxing as other resorts in the area. The hotel was nice and the room was ok. There were many finish details that were lacking that made the room seem like it was a 3* hotel. When we checked into the hotel we were led off by the concierge that explained the hotel amenities and location. That led into the sales pitch where they were offering you coupons to go to breakfast the next day to hear more about the sales pitch about buying into the resort properties. This was all to sell you to buy what was essentially a time share. For those that have been to Cancun and dealt with time share sales at the airport and other locations this was worse because I was in my location where I did not want to be bothered by sales pitches. We said no and the sales pitch continued until we just got up and left. That evening the wifi was not working for any of our electronics and went to the front desk and was again accosted by the concierge which was actually the sales staff and we were aggressively confronted to go to the breakfast sales pitch. All we wanted was a relaxing trip, and Dreams Tulum failed to provide that with their, we will not stop selling our property approach. This sales pitch did not stop the entire time. Waiting for some transportation at the front of the hotel and I watched another couple get hassled and the guy said, this would be a good vacation if it wasn't for them, in reference to the sale pitch people. We also got disturbed with a phone call one evening in our room with more invites to the breakfast sales pitch The food was ok. The first night after a long day travel decided on just stopping by the buffet to grab a bite to eat. The buffet was very limited at night compared to other 4* resorts I stayed at in the Riviera Maya. Never ate at the buffet for dinner again. The meals at the restaurants were fine. For how fancy the were were presented the meals were 3*-4* quality. The staff at the restaurants were very nice and professional and I really liked how they treated us. There were professional photographers there to take pictures but the cost was ridiculously expensive. The beach was very small and limited and they expected you to swim in a very small area. It was also very rocky. The pools were small compared to other 4* resorts in the area and it was difficult to find a spot if you were not there before 11 am. For being sold as a 5* experience I was not at all impressed. There are other all inclusive resorts that offered more and I was treated to a much more relaxing experience. I would say that it would be a 4* resort and to try to enjoy your time and watch out for sales pitches around every corner. This resort is also the furthest away from the airport and Cancun that I have stayed at so expect a long ride after your arrival.

Quick Getaway

Would not recommend Sun, Dec 20, 2015
Dreams could be a nightmare..... This place is a dream if you like being constantly harassed by the staff to be sold on sitting through timeshare presentations. Expect this frequently while you are there. These representatives are infiltrated in the hotel like staff members claiming to be VIP services but they are sales reps trying to get you to free breakfast presentations to sell you stuff. Overall for a 5 star hotel I was not impressed. I have had better experiences at 3 and 4 star hotels. The food was not that good with little variety. The beach is dirty and lots of rocks. The hotel is located pretty far from Cancun and airport about 2 hours. The entertainment fell short of being anything spectacular. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel itself was nice but for the money I didn't feel I got anything worth 5 stars. 3 at the most.

Beautiful trip for two

Would recommend Fri, Dec 4, 2015
Hotel was clean no bugs very nice. I recommend eating at the Italian restaurant because it has the best food out of all the other. It's about a $18 taxi ride not round trip to go anywhere and not walking distance to down town. Highly recommended for families staying only at resort. If your young and want to venture out you will be spending lots of money on taxi. Beautiful beach if you go for a walk outside the resort feels like its private.

Not worth it for the price

Would not recommend Tue, Dec 1, 2015
This was my very first and LAST all-inclusive stay at a resort. I was extremely disappointed at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa. The food was mediocre at best. The drinks were heavily watered down with soda and barely any actual alcohol (I stuck with beer mostly to avoid this). There was only one bartender (in the hotel lobby - I think his name was Limberth) that did an excellent job. He was so sweet and actually made the drinks amazing! The only time I ordered a cocktail was with him. Also, there was an extemely helpful and sweet woman at the Amstar table (bangs and longer hair). She was a gem. The actual hotel wasn't all that great. Our hotel room sink had a HUGE crack in it. The pool water wasnt clear but murky, as if there was a bunch of sunscreen residue. Also, the entire first day my wi-fi didnt work. Customer service was OK (besides the two stellar people I mentioned). If I stayed at a resort and spent money out of pocket, I would have spend less and got a much better experience.

Couple- pre-holiday getaway

Would recommend Fri, Nov 27, 2015
Had a great experience at Dreams- Tulum. The food was some of the best we've had in Mexico, with fine dining every night and no reservation needed. We like to walk so the property is small with only one hotel onsite. Pictures are true to the property. Property caters to children so be aware. Checkout the Seaside Grill for excellent Greek salad and steak burrito. The garlic butter fish was our favorite. Better than average nightly entertainment including a rock band that actually rocks, don't miss it! The sports fan can watch any sport in the world. If you enjoy coffee they offer a very nice Coco cafe with anything you'd like. You'll enjoy it, book it!
