Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa transports guests to a utopia of flourishing gardens, soft sand beaches and high-caliber accommodations. Marble flooring is soothing underfoot as you step out of the Tulum heat, while the modern Mexican hotel decor and ocean- or garden-facing rooms allow for meditative nature-watching. Rejuvenate your skin with treatments at the spa - from facials to exfoliations and massages - before sampling local Mexican dishes at El Patio, one of the hotel's exquisite restaurants. Romantic and indulgent, this resort is great for honeymooners, though the Explorer's Club ensures that little ones also have plenty to do (restrictions apply).

Travel a few brief miles to soak in the sights at historical, walled Tulum, one of the last Mayan cities to survive Spanish colonization. Great Destination Wedding Site

Dreams Tulum was a wonderful surprise. We had the least expensive room and tried to upgrade, unsuccessfully. But, the room was excellent. It was very large, had a beautiful balcony with a view of the courtyard, was very quiet and well furnished. The food was beyond expectations and every meal was delicious. The many restaurants and bars made the stay more interesting (all inclusive) and I would rather stay there then travel out to dinner each night. The help was very accommodating and couldn't have been nicer.

The Mayan ruins were definetely worth the visit and we were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful beach on the opposite side of the site. Either attraction was worth the short drive from the hotel.

Relaxing vacation

It's pretty far from the Cancun airport but worth the extra drive. It's not a spring break resort so stay closer to Cancun if that's what you're looking for. Everything was super clean. The staff were all very friendly. We only had four small Coronas in our minibar each morning. So, we had to call in to order ten more each morning. That was no big deal because the beers always showed up. Overall we were very happy with this all-inclusive vacation.

Great for Families - Not so great if you want quiet

Dreams Tulum is a beautiful and well-maintained resort with impeccable staff. We knew going there that there would be children, we just didn't expect so many. We like to sit and read and snooze by the pool and it was pretty much impossible. Lots of noise everywhere. But it was great value for the money and I would highly recommend it for couples with children. They go out of their way to entertain the kids. IWe prefer the adult only but were very impressed with the resorts cleanliness and grounds. It is quite a drive from the airport so be prepared. D.T. is the last drop off so it can take an hour and a half to get there.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Catch the van outside of the resort (they run every 10 minutes and only costs a couple of bucks) and go into Playa del Carmen for your shopping. Walmart (yes there is a Walmart there too) and pick up your liquor to bring home. Large selection and the best price. Even better than the duty free at the airport.

great everything

We loved everything about the Dreams experience. The restaurants were fantastic. We really loved the Italian restaurant and the Sushi Bar at Gohan. The drinks were excellant. We stayed in a garden view room. We normally would choose ocean view but enjoyed the quietness of the area we were in. Can't say enough great things about this resort.

Very relaxing

We enjoyed our stay indulging in our favorite activities--sitting on the beach, reading and listening to the waves in the evening. The food was average. Unfortunately, the beaches beyond the hotel were full of garbage which precluded the pleasure of long walks on the beach. Overall however, we had a good time. Do not expect any shopping bargains.

great value

Resort was lovely and upscale. Food was overall above average quality. Particularly the Italian restaurant. Stay away from World Cafe. Its buffet style, trough and very unpleasant. Rooms were lovley as were grounds. If you want peace and quiet go to the adult pool and not the pool with all the water aerobics activities. Have to go out early to put your towels on desired chairs pool or beachside though. Overall staff was very helpful and pleasant. Great value for the $. Felt like I had spent more...

Excellent Hotel, Very Welcoming and Friendly, Great Beach

This is my first visit to an all-inclusive and to the cancun/riviera maya area, I must say that this is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel staff was always friendly and prompt. The only snag was during check-in when there was some delay and confusion with the room/check-in but that was because I arrived 1 hr early and they were unable to check us in early b/c the room was being cleaned. The food was pretty good (3.5 out of 5). The rooms were very nice (4 out 5) and we had a great deal. The 24 hr room service was a fun luxury (ordered food at 2AM even after the restaurants were closed). I ususally tipped a few dollars to the staff b/c they were always helpful, prompt and friendly. My only regret during this trip was not spending more time at the hotel b/c it has tons of amenities (windsurfing, boogie boards, kayak, snorkel) that are included w/o extra charge. Also, don't waste your time going to Xcaret park as an excursion b/c it totally sucks and is a waste of money, stay at the hotel instead and use their equipment to snorkel and kayak. The location of the hotel is beautiful, truly white-sand gorgeous beaches, it is optional topless, and the Tulum ruins are BEAUTIFUL. I wish that I had more time to spend at Dreams Tulum and the Ruins. Do not save the ruins for the end of the trip, go there during the beginning so that you have time to enjoy it.
