I've been there before, the room made a difference. Last time I stayed at a room with swimming pool view and the carpet was cleaner. This time it was a room with view to the parking lot, which stinks of sewage; therefore the experience wasn't
pleasing at all. I asked to change rooms, but they said they had none available. The carpet was quite dirty and the lighting in the room was poor.
It's a nice hotel, but this time I was disappointed at their service.
Hotel grounds are great; rooms are big and reasonably modern but the a/c is a wall unit that's very noisy and constantly dripping a river of water; shower medium-bad. Beds very good, everything perfectly clean.
Very little English spoken by
staff, even on hotel-related topics (e.g. request for a receipt); annoying habit of inflating prices for taxis ($120 via concierge vs. $60 when walking out of hotel and flagging down same cab).
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
Don't bother with the lakeside restaurants for food, but the view is *great* - about a 20 min walk (longer than Google Maps thinks).
Pool is not heated and is dirty
A/C in room doesn't work.
Carpet is from "that 80's show"
Location is amazing and the hacienda is very charming
Golf Course is great.
All in all, it's OK, but not worth the money.
