Score of 10 for Room Comfort. New Hotel.
We wanted Room Comfort and we got it. Thick down comforters, self adjustable room temperature, shower and bath, full length balcony. Service good but not top notch. You have to ask if you want anything instead of being offered. Huge spacious propertys. Excellent pools

Tikul Restaurant. Take a cab (it may be abt a half mile to a mile away. If walking, walk toward Melia from Westin. Hang a Right toward the Hotel accross from Melia and cut through to Marina. Walk along Marina to Tikul. Also Porta Belle Italian Restaurant. Both are Fine Dining with Top Notch service and food. (Ask for a coupon book from the front desk for $10 coupons)

Go across the street and about two blocks down and on the Marina, there are a dozen nice restaurants.

It was nice and clean...
We were only there for a couple of nights before we headed north to Guayabitos for the week. Great location; walking distance to the marina for dinner and the buses to go downtown (be sure to try out Victor's at the marina!!). SUPER clean and FABULOUS Heavenly beds!! Just a little on the "boring" side around the pool. The music that they play makes you want to go to sleep. (lots of Neil Diamond, Bee-Gees, and Dolly). Relaxing, just not your typical up-beat and party atmosphere around the pool area! Have fun and make your own party!!

Victor's at the marina is VERY good, affordable, and "clean" for us [*]!! Tequilla shots come complimentary with dinner. And don't be surprised if Victor himself comes to drink with you! It's always busy, and a safe place to eat and drink. Also, we loved the sports bar just down the marina too....the bartender there was THE BEST!!

Great Hotel, Very nice beach and pools
We spent several days of our trip at the hotel. The property is very nice for spending time at the pool or beach. Great staff with a great relaxing feel. This hotel is great for a family or couple. I would love to bring my 2 boys there for 7 to 10 days. Hotel is in a great location to the marina. This is wonderful for shopping and all the resturants that are only a 5 minute walk away. I have been to over 5 different locations in Mexico. This was one of my best trips. I hope to be back

The hotel and grounds are very nice. The rooms are large, recently renovated, and well appointed. The staff was quite friendly and very helpful. Downtown is about 20 minutes away by bus, which costs 5.50 ($0.45) pesos one way. The marina is a short walk away which offers many restaurants and shops.

Had a great time in Puerto Vallarta. I had not been in 19 years and the Westin was wonderful. Only an 80 peso ride to town for shopping, night life and dining. walking distance to the Marina for dining too. I did whale watching and saw 4 hump backs then swam with the dolphins in Nuevo Vallarta the next day. Pool area is quite beautiful and the staff was very attentive. Would go back in a heartbeat. winter trip
IT was close to airport. Watch your taxi rates.Cost back to airport was less than $5 but we paid $15 out of airport. Oldtown is great place.Lots of places to eat and shop.

Relaxing Vacation
I really enjoy this hotel. This was my second time to the hotel. The beach is small, but there are plenty of beach chairs and locals come to the beach to offer watersports and excursions. We went on a catamaran ride (soo much fun) and jet skied the first day. The drinks at the Westin are perfect if you like them strong, which I do. They had better drinks than the restaurants in town. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff is very accommodating. The workout room has new equipment and offers workout classes. The spa is very nice as well. The only downside was we selected the Westin club that includes breakfast and appetizers. There is a lot of food, just not very good food – it's mediocre at best. They offer appetizers like chicken nuggets the best thing was the coffee and mimosas. I think you'd do better in thier restaurants although because we did eat at the club (breakfast and appetizers) we were often too full to have dinner - so you may save money. The promotions at the beach bar - grilled shrimp and beer were delicious!

Very happy stay at the Westin PV
Great place to spend time on the beach, or in the pool... Food not excellent, but everything was fine all in all. The staff at the hotel are very nice. Right across the street is the OXXO (7.11 type market) for milk, water, snacks, etc. Easy walk to the marina for restaurants and shops. Cab ride into town is 100 pesos and easy and fast. Very relaxing at the hotel with the sounds of the waves and nice bar to chill out at the beach with a drink. Rooms are nice-- Beds are super comfy and the balconies are wonderful place to hang out and stare out at the ocean and watch the boats. We were very happy with our time at the Westin Puerto Vallarta.

Right across the street in the alleyway by super deli is a great place for coffee and breakfast. Very good, clean, cheap and the coffee beats the resort by a long shot! They also serve lunch and dinner but we only tried the breakfast. it was great!
