Excellent hotel!!

Would recommend Thu, Nov 27, 2008
Our Westin stay in Puerto Vllarta was super. The location, the ammenities and service were the best. The rooms were really big(spacious), clear, flat TV, nice and big gallery with a great ocen view and the bathroom was huge! There were several swimming pools surrounded by coconut trees. Overall, it was great stay. We highly recommend the hotel.

Dining

The Marina was a short walk from the hotel, there were several great resturants at the Marina and small shops. Also, there was a great massage place a block from the hotel. The neighborhood was very safe.

Apparently Nikki Beach has closed down and has been replaced by a nice restaurant that closes at 11 pm.

Dining

the marina has many different restaurants right across the street.

Friendly, but noisy

Would not recommend Wed, Aug 6, 2008
My stay at the Westin Puerto Vallarta was a mixed bag. I'll begin with the great parts: The Staff - lovely, helpful, friendly, efficient. I didn't meet a person working there who was not completely engaged in addressing guest's comfort. They are awesome. It was beautiful, spacious, had a great view and was comfortable. The Gym - was what it needed to be, well equiped, TVs with cable on all the cardio machines, a nice yoga room. Climate controlled. The less than great parts: The Location - If you're interested in anything other than the hotel - you can walk across the street to see the marina, but you'll need to take a bus or a cab to get anywhere with a bit of Mexico to it. The Remodeling - Time at the pool is accompanied by the sound of power-tools and construction. There's no pool area that escapes that sound. I did not find that sound relaxing. The Beach - Small, shade is only available if you pay extra for a pergola. There's a time share condo sharing the facility that has access to palapas, but hotel guests do not. If you want to be outside in the shade, you need to be by the pool. If you're by the pool, you'll be listening to construction.

Dining

If you are looking for cheaper / better food, there's a number of restaurants in the marina area across the street from the hotel.

Relaxing Getaway

Would recommend Wed, Jul 16, 2008
The Westin was an amazing hotel, Right on the beach and included 3 pools. Very Relaxing getaway. The staff was extremely accomodating and upon check-in I asked if any upgrades were available and the guy at the front upgraded me free of charge to a full ocean view. Always tip the front desk when this happens. The Mini-bar in the room was fully stocked, but ever hotel I've stayed at as always given complimentary coffee packets, the Westin charged for these. The Location is great but a little far from downtown Puerto Vallarta, I spent a lot of money on Taxis to and from the hotel, although public transportation is readily available I didn't fully understand how it worked. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nightlife hint

Bars and restaurants downtown are cool, and the People are extremely beautiful. Learn how to use public transportation and save a lot of money.

Outstanding Resort

Would recommend Mon, Jul 7, 2008
The Puerto Vallarta Westin Spa and Resort was very enjoyable, especially the Royal Beach Club where we were served a wonderful continental buffet breakfast every morning with mimosas and an afternoon buffet of appetizers and a bar where we could make our own drinks or sip the wine and champagnes. Our ocean view was spectacular, offering an opportunity to see the pirate ship, fireworks and even cruise ships as they entered the port. With downtown and the malecon several miles away ($5.50 taxi ride), we enjoyed the isolation of the resort and were only 15 minutes walking distance to the marina shops and restaurants.

Westin falls short

Would not recommend Wed, Jul 2, 2008
The room was clean but small. The pool was under major construction. The food was extremely expensive. Be prepared to pay $80 just for a simple breakfast for 4. Luckily, we only stayed a few days at the end of our trip. The beach access was fine and the location was in the marina which had many dining and shopping options accessible by foot. We did become sick during our stay while staying here. I can't say where the bacteria came from, but I felt very bad after a terrible margarita at poolside. It seems Mexico is no longer the bargain it once was.

Dining

The Buenos Aries Restaurant had great food at very reasonable prices. They are in the center of the marina if you can dodge the many time share hawkers.

Beautiful property, incredible view and value for your money

Would recommend Tue, Jul 1, 2008
The Westin Hotel & Spa in Puerto Vallarta exceeded all of my expectations. The Westin in Puerto Vallarta is an amazingly beautiful property, with a stunning beach club, many swimming pools, very friendly staff, great food, and also a great clientele. The rooms are modern, shabby chic, and the bathrooms are exquisite: large rain shower, beautiful tub, large marble counter space. One of the best things I did while staying there was to take yoga and pilates classes, and our instructor was one of the best I ever had in my life! Do not miss the margaritas at the hotel beach club.

Dining

Walking distance from the hotel lies the marina: around it you will find great restaurants (I recommend Nikul) and the best coffee place ever.

Excellent hotel - superb staff, the best we've ever experienced. Pools are great, but in July one of the main obnes was cloec for maintenance. Bedrooms were very comfortable, excellent bed, bathroom, etc. Only complaint was the volume of piped music by the pools and beach - we would prefer to hear the sounda of the ocean, rather than the loud music.

Dining

Close to hotel - less than 10 mins walk to small shops and restuarants around the marina.

Very Comfortable Bed

Would recommend Tue, Jun 17, 2008
The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. We LOVED the fact that we were not harassed about time-share options. The hotel staff was very accommodating and very helpful. We were disappointed that not all the pools were available. I would have loved for the hotel restaurants to offer a larger selection of food, but we had a great time nonetheless. We will definitely stay there again.

Dining

Taxis are readily available to take you anywhere. This location is very central and just a short drive into downtown. The bus is also available at all times making it very convenient.
