Dated, but very good value and excellent location.
First, you won't find a large resort closer to "Old Town" than this. That was the main selling point for me, as there's not much happening further up the coast where the other, new resorts are located. The property itself is on-par with other four-star tropical resorts, but the rooms are dated, if well-maintained. The guests during our stay were mainly families from other cities in Mexico; definitely not a party scene, but relaxing for the most part. The entire staff was fluent in English and very patient when I tried to practice the little Spanish I do know.

The good and the bad
The hotel itself, from room to pool and restaurants are very clean, nice and comfortable, The staff specially all the front desk personnel that we encountered from our check in to every time we visit the front desk for assistance seems that they do not want to be bothered, They lack warmth and don't say hi,hello, how can we help you, good morning or anything like that. They need to be re trained. They finally came around when we said something.

great getaway
Everything was great the food, service, and the place look good. But we had a all Inclusive deal and you could not get stuff at both bars or pools so that part of it suck so if you just want to lay around and be able to swim up to the bar and order something I would say go to a place that is all Inclusive only not one that does both, and all they served was keg beer they really need to have cans

Excellent location and value
Booked non A. Inc. and happy we did . the food at hotel restaurants was mediocer at best. grocery store 2 blocks north had everything you needed (food and cheap booze). excellent authentic restaurants just 5-10 min. walk towards the malecon. 1st day at pool ordered my 9 year old a virgin pina colada, $5.00 us. couldn't imagine how much it would have been with a shot in it..... from then on we just brought our beer / drinks down from our room that we had bought at the store, no worries. great pools, had volleyball and aerobics but lame music. beach has smooth rocks in the water but swimable and sand above waterline. the malecon or boardwalk is a must see, it is a10 15 min. walk to the s. lots of cool shops restaurants and a market to see along the way. we felt perfectly safe walking the streets even in the wee hours, lots of locals trying to sell you anything. just know how to say no nicely and you will enjoy your vaca.

Girls Week in the Sun
The Sheraton was great and would definately stay there again. Food was good, service was good (be sure to be friendly and tip the staff this is there bread and butter). We made friends with the bartenders the first day and had great service all week. Room was very nice and beds comfortable. I have stayed at many places in PV and these were the best beds. Great view. Down side is that there are not alot of free outlets in the room if you have lots of devices. (bring a power strip). Also skip the massage at the hotel, it was not very good. Staff was very distracted during the massage and didn't do a very good job. Check out one of the massage places in downtown or the Marina for a better massage at a much better rate. The location was fantastic, easy walking distance to downtown and the Malecon. For better barganing on souvineers head to the flea market near the Pier. They don't get as much traffic and are willing to cut a deal.

Be sure to check out Capitan Dons on Honduras Ave. Best taco stand in PV right across the street. Pick up some taco's and quesadillas and grab a table and a drink at Don's.

Friends getaway
the hotel was great. great location close to town, easy walking distance. Would be nice if all rooms had a balcony, but not a deal breaker. You get a great breeze off the ocean and can hear the waves crash with the window open.

Come here every year
everything is great with following exceptions. i made a reservation months in advance and asked for adjoining rooms and we didnt get them. we had to wait 2 days for one of parties to MOVE to the adjoining room. 2 days they closed off a whole side of the pool (the chairs were taken away) for a convention. The convention (Hankook) people used that area for a total of 10 minutes one afternoon. there are lots of other areas where they could have held their gathering without inconveniencing the guests to crowd into a smaller area. The beach is useless- very rocky. Happy hour during the day around noon is only for 1 specific drink..i think it should be for all drinks.
