The Melia is Fabulous!
Our stay at the Melia was quite enjoyable. The room was excellent--comfortable bed and it was nice to return to the air conditioning when things got too hot outside. The staff was great-very helpful and polite at all times. We only ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel and then usually went out at night for dinner. There was a good selection of food and it was quite good. There is a show every night at the hotel but we only saw the one on Saturday night-it was a circus type show and was excellent--something we would normally pay about $100 each to see somewhere else. All in all our stay was great and we would like to return again in the future.

Great resort. Plenty to do for kids.
We were there for a Bachelor Party. Biggest reason we stayed there was for the deal that we got. There were a lot of kids there but everyone was fine with us drinking and carrying on. If I come back to P.V. with kids I will definitely stay here they had a lot of activities for kids.

Melia
Great location for Puerto Vallarta!Ā Overall the hotel was okay -way too many kids and during August many locals vacation here.Food was good - not too many options though - one restaurant was open for dinner. Beach was non existant - so if you want beach - not a good choice. Pool was nice and drinks were top shelf - tasty!

Love Puerto Vallarta
A Great Family Vacation!
My entire family went on vacation. Both sons, wives, and 2 grandsons. Only 5 minutes from the airport to the hotel, and a 10 minute bus ride into Puerto Vallarta. Went into town several days to see our favorite places, spent the rest of the time at the pool with everyone. Staff was simply GREAT, rooms were very clean and very nice. The food was above average for an all-inclusive stay. We will definately be back in the near future.

Very good value
Have beem at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed my stay. Employees are helpful and security is good. Have stayed at places with nicer beaches. Variety of food at the all inclusive is good and several restaurants to choose from for dinner. Location not far from the center of town and area is safe. Nightly stage shows with different themes.

Love the Melia
I love the Melia and have been back multiple times. The location is great- not too far from town and close to the Marina. Staff is very friendly and our room was nice with a good view. Many families and quiet. No constant game announcements at the pool. Breakfast and lunch are the best! The local bus is always available to take you to town. I was happy that Puerto Vallarta was safe as ever. We can always count on a relaxing week.

We loved Melia!
We didn't know much about the hotel before we got there, but our overall experience was amazing once we got there! The people that worked there were all super friendly and accomodating. The food was incredible (breakfast, lunch and dinner!). They had a good variety of imported and domestic alcohol (and not the cheap stuff either!) and really tasty drinks (Margaritas, Mojitos, Cups of nothing). The crowd at the hotel was mixed; a lot of families but also some couples and younger groups. The hotel had activities to accomodate everyone and I would definitely go back there, especially when I have kids. The hotel was only 10-15 minutes from downtown and very easy to get to by bus/cab. The only downfall was that the beach was pretty small and nothing to really rave about. The last bar in the hotel closes at 1 am so if you're one of those who likes to party all night, take a cab into town to keep the night going! Trip was altogether great and we definitely got what we paid for!

Definitely pay the money to go on a boat excursion out of the marina! They're relatively cheap and usually include a meal & a snack & drinks as well & they take you to some beautiful beaches and a waterfall away from the touristy areas!!
