Nice secluded spot

This hotel was awesome. We were there during spring break and there were no college kids...super quiet, private beach, nice pool, room overlooking the ocean. Great place but the upstairs restaurant called Alfredo's was absolutely terrible! We had almost a hundred dollar meal that was the worst weve had in a long time anywhere, and we are not snobby people! The restaurant next door however is great, nice seating by the ocean, delicious cheap food, and a live band. In short, great place, food not so good

Food next door is way better and cheaper. We had a terrible meal at the upstairs restaurant, pathetic dishes, really sucked and brought us down cause it was the most expensive meal of our trip!

Too far out of town

Out of town and a $10 taxi ride each way, road was being worked on so slow to get to and back from town. There was a bus every 20 minutes, more like 30 minutes that was cheap but it broke down once and we had to wait for another. Bar in the lobby was closed during the day, had to use the beach bar. We were asked for $ 11 a day for tips the day we checked in, not mandatory. I always thought you tiped after the service. 1 cockroach on the ceiling above our bed when we woke up, not good. Room was big as were the bathrooms, stingy on towels.

Wonderful relaxing time in Mismaloya!

This is a lovely hotel in the best location, a few miles south of old Puerto Vallarta. My husband and I booked a vacation for a great price and agreed that this was the best place we have stayed so far in Puerto Vallarta. (This was our 6th trip to the area.) The staff were very helpful and friendly-- everyone from the restaurant staff, front desk, maid service, to the personnel who served drinks and snacks on the beach or by the pool. All the rooms are ocean view with balconies. The view was spectacular-- we saw whales almost every day! The Beach is beautiful and amazingly mesmerizing! We had a lot of fun playing in the surf and then at end of the day the sound of the surf would lull us to sleep. When we wanted to go into the city we just hopped a bus for a scenic 20 minutes into Puerto Vallarta for just 7 pesos (about 75 cents US) We loved every minute and will definitely come back to this hotel in the future!

"Wonderful Honeymoon"

My now husband had never been to Mexico so I was a bit hesitant at first to book the honeymoon in P.V. especially at the Intercon (it was WAY off the map!)But WOW am I glad we did! From the moment we stepped in, we felt welcome! The hotel has a very relaxed vibe, yet you feel like royalty! The wait staff, maids, and front desk people are so attentive and friendly! Ask for [...]at the pool and he will hook you up with whatever activity you want!We went to town 2 nights and if you can afford it go to The Blue Shrimp on the Malacon, and get the pick 10! Dinner was amazing, and we even got a free appetizer too! The other place YOU HAVE TO GO TO is Tony's Hideway! W O W!! 10 Star! It's off the beaten path but hop in with a cab driver who knows where he is going, fabulous! [...]will greet you with a warm smile as you enter the 3 story "treehouse!" Sand floors make the place feel very authentic! Their coconut shrimp is perfection, along with the scoop of fluffy mashed potatoes! If you still have room, order a slice of warm coconut pie!Everything about the Intercontinental was beautiful! I suggest paying ahead of time for the breakfast which is a bit spendy, but worth it! Fresh juices, make to order egg/omlet bar, fresh fruit, and all the fixings make a great buffet! We have talked non-stop about trip! We can't wait to go back!

impressed

It has a great beach and the crashing of the waves was fantastic at night. The waves were intense. Room was clean and bright. It was a very pleasant experience. I think the only downside was the sleezy guy at the front desk who was always trying to broker deals/tips/bribes or whatever. Annoying.

What a great hotel

I went on the Pirate Cruz which was great all should go to this what a fun night that was. We also swam with dolphins and this was nothing short of awesome! A lot less money and had just the same amount of fun. I stayed at the hotel Intercontinental Presidenta and I would recommend this to everyone! Clean hotel, great staff, hotel is less than 20 bucks cap ride to central but the hotel is located in a very nice area and very quite!

great couple gateaway!

For the first day, We decided to stay in the hotel and rest, because we had plans for tour next morning. The hotel has its own private beach which is right next to the pool+bar. We got the welcome drink in the pool and this was very nice. The staff are familiar about the town, and they are helpful to ask directions. Complains: 1.The floor in the room was not clean. 2. We almost got charged for bottles of drink in the room that we never opened. 3. Do not use the international phone calls from the room. The company charged us $50 for calling only 2 mins to U.S. (we are calling the back, and they are trying to deny the transaction.) Overall the stay was good. The hotel is far from the DownTown, so you have to take a local bus or taxi to get there. Buses comes often, but they don't run after 9:30pm so you have to leave DownTown before 9:30 if you don't want to pay for taxi.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Try to figure out the bus routes, instead of taxis. It will be a great money saver, plus you'll get to experience more of the culture. Also, try to buy your souveniers in Viejo Vallarta (old town) from small shops because they will be at least 3times cheaper than the stuff sold at the airport. Also you can try to haggle the prices with the owners, because they will tend to try to ripe you off.

This place is far from everything,

This place is far from everything, but very secluded. The building is old and not very fancy for a four star hotel. Expect to pay US prices for drinks and poolside food. Rooms were clean, but very old. The place is in need of significant upgrades to bring it to a four star level. Despite the high prices, they still nickle and dime you for services as simple as wireless Internet. Do yourself a favor - stay at the Krystal for better prices and the same or better values.
