Hotel Tropicana Vallarta

This is the second stay at the Tropicana. We got the next room up from the Standard. Room 423, it was excellent with a great ocean view and balcony. The grounds were kept immaculate along with the whole hotel area.We only ate one meal there breakfast. Which we the day we left as we waited for departure to the airport, and it was good.We did have a few drinks on property and they were very good as well as price! We had a friend book late as to join us on our vacation.She booked a Standard Room and I was a little nervous as to previous reports from others.She was given Room # 503 She was thrilled with it,as it was much like ours with a great pool and ocean view. The only downside was you only had WiFi in the lobby area. Not a big deal with me. I did mention that it was a factor to many travelers and people people had complained on numerous PVR message boards. The front desk said they would pass this up to their Superiors and had the complaint numerous times.

Not bad. On beach. Decent location. Nice pool area. I guess I was lucky to get an ocean front/view room, which was pretty quiet with sounds of the waves at night. Rooms are fairly basic. Not a fan of the no-guest policy but I guess that is typical.

I spent four nights here and felt satisfied. The hotel is only a few metres away from the gay beach, so it is a perfect spot to be apart from the gay scene to relax yet close enough to it to go for a stroll.

We like this hotel because it is in the heart of the romantic district and the resturants and shopping are great. No dealing with venders for tours and excursions on the streets. The personnel at the front desk handle everything. Roberto, the beach waiter is excellent. This one place we'll return to time and again.

hotel property is in a beautiful location with easy access to pool and beach. staff was very accomodating and helpful. rooms were of a good size and very clean. I upgraded my room to a suite as standard rooms do not have mini refrigerators for storing beverages. location of hotel is about a 10 min walk to shopping and restaurants in the romantica district. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a perfect location on the beach of Puerto Vallarta. It's within walking distance of downtown Puerto Vallarta and is surrounded by excellent restaurants and convenience stores. We opened up the balcony doors every night to listen to the ocean waves.

The hotel is not new, but has been well maintained and they are adding new things, like a new pool that opened for new years. The location is perfect, walking distance to great restaurants and nightlife. Over the holidays, it was full..yet there was always space on the large beach. I would recommend the superior rooms... Worth the little extra. Great views. The beds were comfortable, and rooms were very clean. Can't wait to go back. Just don't expect the Four Seasons, punta... You are not paying the same for a reason! Open your mind and have fun!
