Perfect location, ash in ashtray

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was right next to, and connected to a diner that served great food. You could order room service or just go downstairs for it. The ac unit worked well. Getting water was a bit annoying because we had to walk from the 3rd floor down to the 1st all the time, and there was no ice. The pool was ok, but when other people get in it gets crowded fast. It is close to the beach and shopping areas. There is a taco stand two or three blocks towards the beach that sells the best tacos. The bed was comfortable and clean. The area was only loud one night but that was due to close by clubs letting out. Overall it was great.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you go out of the hotel, walk to your left and cross 3 intersections, turn left and at the second intersection you will see a big pharmancia. There are a bunch of really great, cheap, delicious taco stands on that whole street. If you walk up that street to where the church is, there is a man at the corner that sells fresh churros, which are amazing and only 1 peso.

10-day stay in June 2014

Nice room with two double beds, A/C, cable TV, internet, adequate furnishings, simple, not elaborate. Plentiful hot water for shower not a problem. A bit noisy sometimes from the pool (early evenings), and from the attached restaurant, Fredy's Toucan, below, (when starting up in the morning ~6.30 am for moving furniture etc). Staff kind and helpful, allowed a late checkout. Overall very good value for the money.

Budget / Mid-range basic comfort

Great location for a 4-night stay in old town area on Basilio Badillo; relatively quiet, clean, beautiful flowers everywhere, pool and sun deck. Next to very popular Freddy's Toucan restaurant.

Charming Inn in the Zona Romantica

Check in was effortless. Beds were comfortable and amenities include flat screen tv with channels in English, free wifi, good breakfast restaurant in premises and lovely rooftop deck. Avoid room near the restaurant if one is bothered by noise.

3 days wasn't enough

Pleasant and helpful staff. Good location meant we didn't have enough time in PV. I would recommend this hotel to anyone not expecting room service and daily massages on the house.

Quaint and charming

I really enjoyed my stay at Rogers. Not the top of the line amenities but everything you need for the right price. People are really nice, things are kept clean. Older fascility, quaint and cute. If your an all inclusive 5 star buff you won't like it. If your adventurous and like a taste of old mexico then go for it. 2 blocks from the beach and anything else you might need

Just excellence.

Everything is excellence if your expectation is in check. I'm very happy with this hotel and will definitely go back and recommend to everyone. Pros; - The place is cute. All my friends like it. Think Mexican boutique hotel. - The breakfast place next door, Fredy Tucan is top 10 on tripadviser. I like it more than Pancake House (you should try both anyway). Two block to beach, four block to flea market and downtown, close to many top restaurants. Saturday market is right out front. Central but quite at night. - Everything in the room work well, include hot water, fan, AC. There is a community kitchen with fridge. We didn't use it. Too many good restaurants around. Drinking water is provided in the lobby. - Security is good. Main entrance is locked at night. Buzz to get in. - All staffs are friendly and helpful. Cons; (Note: these are not my complaint. Just some point that I would like to mention) - The room has no safety box. Not sure if there is at the lobby. - No fridge but you could rent a mini fridge for $5 per day. They work well. - Bed is firm, pillow a bit flat, no duvet (you don't need it). - The rooms that are above pool and restaurant could be noisy sometime during the day. Not a problem for us. The rooms that are above the court yard might be a bit more quite. - With only one window, one ceiling light and one reading light, the room can be too dark. There is no light in the closet and markup desk. Bring cheap LED lamp with you if that is a concern. - With only one window, the room could be hot during the day. AC help a lot. - No elevator. Most places in PV has no elevator anyway. There are four floors. Ask for lower floor if you have knee problem. Pay bell boy if you have big luggage. Don't forget to tip them well.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Las Marietas is a lot less impressive in person than the picture. I took a tour with Vallarta Advanture. The activities is just go go go. Visibility is not good for snorkeling. Food on the boat is below average. Smell of bird dropping lingering everywhere. Not worth the long boat ride.
