Mercurio is a gay friendly hotel in the heart of the Romantic Zone. Its close to the beach, shopping, restaurants and bars. It is a great value for the modest price, but it is not the Ritz Carlton. The hotel is dated, but its price, location and
staff make up for that.
"Gay Friendly" is perhaps a little bit of an understatement--the guests at this large B&B (20-30 rooms) were exclusively gay men, during my stay. That being said, it was a very comfortable, laid-back atmosphere with no issues of noise. The
included breakfast each day was clutch, while the AC, water pressure, in-room fridges, etc., all worked perfectly. The location is stellar, the staff overwhelmingly helpful and friendly, and at a great price. Kudos, Mercurio!
great location, extremely helpful staff, the hotels amenities are improving but clean comfortable and a nice shower. As improvements are made definetely the star rating will increase .nice 24hr pool feature
We are a gay couple that absolutely love Puerto Vallarta and the friendly Hotel Mercurio ... It's the best location in town... People come to stay from all over the world... It's not luxury just LOTS of fun... And a great value ... There breakfast
meet up is the best...
I love Mercurio's lobby, pool, breakfast, happy hour, guests and staff. The rooms are spartan but clean, sorta like dorm rooms. They are also inconsistent - one stay I got a large second floor room facing the street full of sunlight, another time
I got a small dark first floor room facing the pool. You can expect a fun friendly stay, just don't count on luxe bedrooms.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
A short walk away is Basilio Badillo, a street lined with great restaurants.
The staff at this hotel is absolutely wonderful but the hotel truly needs a makeover. Sorry to say but the bathrooms were extremely outdated. If a nice bathroom is a requirement then you might want to consider other places.
