stone cutter
four visits in five years
Our last visit at Fiesta Americana prior to this trip was during the Easter Holiday when the town and hotel were very busy. We decided to try it during the off season for a more relaxing experience. The weather is different. Hot, humid and rain storms almost every evening, but that was to be expected. What I didn't expect was the continued intrusive noise level-- not from the Fiesta Americana, but from adjacent resorts nearby. Awful bass thumping that seemed to cut right through the walls at night. The amplified noise (I wouldn't call it music) blared out every day starting at mid-morning and continued all day and into the late, late night hours. The incessant "thump, thump, thump" could be heard even with the balcony doors closed at 2:30 PM. When it stopped, I don't know because I fell asleep to the pounding amplifiers each night. How these neighboring resorts get away with this inconsiderate behavior is puzzling to me. But as a result, this is sadly our last stay at the beautiful Americana.

Great getaway
I enjoyed my stay there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I tend to always stay at a Fiesta Americana if there is one available where I vacation.

Fabulous Fiesta Americana
Wow! Beautiful hotel. Right on the beach. Knock out service. I felt like a princess every where I went. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy and doing well. My waiters would tell me when a better place on the beach was available under an umbrella without me ever asking. Very personal, go out of their way service. Room was perfect, it had a nice outside balcony as well. We could see the city, the mountains, the sea and we had amazing lightning storms to watch and an amazing red crecent moon. To give you an idea of the service, one day I was trying to salt my eggs at breakfast, (which by the way, everything we ate there was terrific too) the salt was coagulated due to the humidity so nothing was coming out. I set it down and continued eating. A waiter ran over and replaced my salt shaker with a better one in less than thirty seconds. I didn't like that they didn't have ice makers on every floor. You have to call for the ice which comes right away but then you are tipping a lot. I like that they have fridges in the rooms but thought it odd you couldn't buy soda in the hotel store. Puerta Vallarta was fabulous. Very hot and humid in July but even in the restaurants, the service was always way above what you receive in the United States. It was not a quiet hotel. I could hear people returning to their rooms late at night. One morning I awoke at 5:30am thinking an alarm was going off. It was the phone in the room next to us. When he answered his phone, I could hear his whole conversation.

We split quesadillas at Punto V. It turned out to be quite the value. They make salsa right at your table.

Great trip great hotel!
We had a wonderful stay - the staff was super helpful and sent us to some exceptional restaurants and local beaches. The hotel was quiet (low season) and we were pretty much the only americans - everyone was super friendly and we worked on learning more spanish!

great place for the family
Everyone was very friendly. I would definetly go again. Very clean and quiet. The only negative was that I paid for all inclusive and there were not very good activities included. Wished for non motorized water sports like other all inclusive resorts offered. Some food was excluded.

Excellent Choice!
This is one of the best HOTELS we've ever booked. Yes, we've stayed at nicer RESORTS; but if you need a hotel, I highly recommend this one. Why? -Immaculate -Impeccable -Beautiful appointments, grounds, and view -Excellent staff and service -Convenient location -Superb food (prices were on par with downtown restaurants) If you like to play in the waves, then you'll need to go to Nuevo Vallarta. If not, then you won't be disappointed with this beach. Our stay included a breakfast buffet - it was fantastic! Open until noon, and filled with so much wonderful food, we didn't have to (want to) eat again until dinner. And best of all, it's located next to the beach in an open-air "pavillion." Imagine sipping coffee and eating (fill-in-the-blank) while staring at the ocean and feeling its gentle breeze touching your face.

Traditional Mexican Hotel
The Hotel has a good location. Buses run right in front and are the cheapest transportation. At the time of our trip 5.50pesos pp. Taxis were 50.00 pesos.per zone. We used both. Buses have no AC. Taxis do. We were here Sept 2-8 and it was the low season. Most tourists went back to work and school. The majority of vacationers were Mexicans and it got busiest on the week end. Everyone was very friendly, the service was great. The hotel probably had 40% occupancy if that. So we were treated even better. The breakfast buffet was included. It had so much to offer that you had breakfast and lunch in one sitting. The pool was a little disappointing in that it was not the Infinity type we like. There were no formal hotel activities because of the time of year. The were beach massages and many vendor offering on the beach. Boat rides, water skiing, wave runners, para sailing, etc. The view from our 8th floor room was fabulous. Downtown, the mountains, the bay,and wonderful sunsets. You never got tired or bored with the view from our balcony. You will not be disappointed with this hotel.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
There are many stores and of course the flea market. Price items you want and let the seller come down 2/3 times before you buy esp in flea market. Hotel stores and airport store are much more expensive.

return visit
This was our fourth or fifth trip to this hotel have been to PV 19 times. Hotel great location nice pool and beach. Like most of Mexico friendly staff. Weather was on the hot side in October we would wait a few more weeks to go again this time of year. Easy trip back and forth to airport in hotel less than 30 minutes after getting off plane. Hotel would not let any outside food or drinks in for some reason they gave a lame excuse of bringing disease into hotel this made no sense, its probably because they want you to buy everything on the grounds.
