First & Only Visit to This Hotel

Only hotel I have traveled to for vacation that immediately gave me a negative impression. It's first directive to the hotel guest? Don't bring food or beverages!!!! Even before you get to the front lobby or to your room you are reminded constantly not to bring food on premises!!! Odd rule since no other hotel that I have traveled to in Mexico, Europe, or the USA has welcomed their guest with such a ridiculous limitation. Beyond that the hotel is an average hotel 3 Stars in my book at best. The rooms are comforatable but in need of some TLC, like paining the the walls & fixing tiles. Walls are very thin. If you booked this with the $125 credit the staff seems to forget when you are settling your bill!!! Oh, you had a credit? Can I see your voucher? Come on!!! You mean you don't know which package/rate I bokked??? Had to spend 15-20 with the front desk getting my credit!!! Careful with the concierge, AKA timeshare staff!!! I will avoid this place.

Falling slowly year by year

From three restsurants being open a few years ago. to only having one selection per evening and the quality of food has become less appitizing. Our room was very seldom cleaned by 3 o'clock. the lobby bar used to offer 2 for 1 of any drink for happy hour, but now, it's 2 for 1 only one night it's Corona beer, the next night it's margarittas. That;s the choice. Less people every year and most go out to dinner elsewhere

Go to Mexico- but, not Fiesta Americana

Overall dissapointment!! Restaurant and pool staff were only redeeming value... Sadly while the pool was attractive it was barely waist deep, and the food was really hit or big miss! Requests to the front desk for ice or to unlock the in-room mini bar went unanswered!!?? Crazy!! But MUCH worse was the fact the maid stole several expensive articles of clothing! Great town, nice people- no evidence of swine flue anywhere!

Dissappointed in Service & Room View

The hotel was clean and is a beautiful facility on a gorgeous beach. [...] It was a nice room on Floor 1 with a view of a thatched roof of the Pallapa along with the active and smokey outdoor grill - NO OCEAN VIEW. Went back to the desk to request another room. They assigned us another room but on the City side of the hotel which they said was the only thing available. Entered the room and there were someone else's bags in the room. Went back downstairs and they had us get into the back of the line and wait. Once waited on, they finally gave us a room overlooking the pool but still without an ocean view. At the beach, had to hunt a waiter down. Once the food was delivered and after several hours, never received a check. Had to go to great pains just to pay the bill. Could go on, but you get the picture!

a fly in the ointment

The hotel requires all guests to sign a promise not to bring any food or drink onto the grounds. This new policy may very well cause us never to visit again. It is silly to hide a cookie or soft drink while walking past the watchful eyes of the front desk! They said it was to prevent disease. What utter nonsense. We all know the real purpose is promote in house purchasing at exhorbant rates ($2.50 for a can of soda!) I don't think so.

Pretty good

Hotel could use some updating especially the rooms that were clean but old. TV selection slant towards international and I understand higher floor rooms have more TV options for USA folks we would like CNN and FOX USA.

Fiesta Americana

We arrived at the hotel about mid afternoon, the check in was quick and easy and a very helpful, very polite staff. We meet the bellman upstairs with our luggage and off we went. While down stairs waiting for a taxi we asked one of the bellman where to eat, since this was our first day in town. He recommended a new restaurant named cilantro and even called them to get the menu and prices over the phone. The location of the hotel is great, right next to a bus pick-up and across the street from a large grocery store, which was convenient. The rooms were really clean, and the staff was super helpful, can't really comment on the rest of the hotel since we were rarely there, only used it to sleep and get ready before we went out for the night. There is so much to explore in town that we spent most of our days at los muertos beach and walking around town. Would recommend this hotel to anyone due to its location and price. thanks
