Great Beach Location
The Emperador Hotel and Suites has in my opinion the best location on Los Muertos Beach. The ideal location makes up for a few of its shortcomings. Upon 3:00 check-in our room was not clean and ready. We decided to have a drink at the restaurant/bar downstairs while we waited, only to find the beach-level establishment was vacant and for rent. The rooms are spacious and have great balconies to watch nightly breathtaking sunsets on Banderas Bay. Kitchenettes and refrigerators are must-haves. Linens are of poor quality; lumpy pillows, rough sheets and bedspread and curtains though laundered showed stains. The beds are hard. The Emperador is dated and shows wear, but for the price, I have yet to find a better value for a beachfront location. Excellent restaurants, bars, coffee cafes, theater and more are all at your doorstep.

very family friendly
My wife and I were very happy with our hotel, we really didn't know what to expect as we had never stayed at the Emperador before. The staff was great and very friendly,are room was clean and we were just steps from the beach a beautiful beach! We had a great time. We were close to alot of great shopping areas and resturants with great food. This hotel is in a great location with great scenic views, we will surely stay at this hotel again.

You are just a shortwalk from everything the malecon (boardwalk) is great, live entertainment,great food, hopping bars, and lots of friendly people.

Great location for the money.
I returned to the Emperador to enjoy the great location. A nice Mexican place and a great bargain. Don't miss La Palapa restaurant around the corner or the wonderful lady one block down selling fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning. The location in the Romantica Zone is the quaint cobbelstoned.

"gay-friendly beach fun"
A FIRST RATE HOTEL FOR THE PRICE. GREAT LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF, CLEAN ROOMS. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO FAMILY/FRIENDS. MY 2ND TIME THIS YEAR WITH MY PARTNER. VERY GAY-FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE . NEW RESTAURANT WITH AN AMAZING SUNSET, WITH TROPICAL DRINKS THAT ARE EXQUISITE.

The location is excellent and that is the most important thing to remember. The elevator kept breaking down during our stay and the walk up and down the stairs can be tiresome. One of the Front Desk Agents had total attitude, but many of the others were very nice. The housekeeping staff are great. You know from the get-go this is not a five-star resort, but you simply cannot beat the price for such an excellent location.

Great value if you're on a budget.

Hotel stay
This was a great budget hotel option, the beds were not very nice and the rooms on the street side are very noisy, but the A/C can block the noise. The location is excellent, right on the beach and the staff were wonderful. [...] were extremely helpful with everything and treated me like I was a guest in their home. The maids were very clean and kind as well. Its a shame the whirlpools are out of order and the pool is not very nice.
