Escaped from winter

We had three fabulous weeks at the Emperador Vallarta in PV. The ocean views were spectacular. Woke up to whales and dolphin watching from our outdoor patio kitchen. The staff were kind and hardworking; many of the staff spoke more English than we did Spanish so that was really helpful. The hotel is in the heart of the romantic zone near the peer, so it was walking distance to almost anywhere we wanted to go. A taxi stand was right around the corner, there were two laundromats within a block, which was great for longer vacations. Terrific restaurants seconds away from the hotel. The rooms are old but are kept clean. The shower in our room required repairing, but we had lots of water pressure. The king size beds were replaced during our stay, so that was a real plus! The downside I guess would be that the hot pool on the roof top patio was not operational and there was not a pool to use. This was not an issue since the beach was directly outside the back door. Overall we had a great experience and look forward to our next visit.

Great location for the price
It was a great place to stay since it was so close to the beach and all the nice places to eat and go out to have drinks. It was on a quieter street far enough from the loud hot spots. The staff was friendly and the rooms were simple yet clean.

Second stay and will go again.
This was my second stay at Emperador. For the price, the room and location can't be beat. It's a great value as the rooms are clean, comfortable and close to everything. The interior rooms are a good deal if you're only there for a couple days, otherwise upgrade to a suite for a great ocean view. The staff - Claudia, Ian, Danielle and Mario are sweet & very helpful. You can certainly stay at beautiful all inclusive resorts with jacuzzis, pillow top mattresses and more conveniences, but you can do that anywhere. I'm a fan.

Short walk from hotel
Ask the staff for local places where they eat - or do not eat. Most all local restaurants are pretty good. Try the smaller restaurants for more local flavor.
