Busted

We paid the higher price for a ocean view king size bed room [...]. We got 2 double beds on the first floor behind the 2 story restaurant without a view. After complaining we were told we had to pay a daily upgrade charge to get a ocean view room with a king bed, so we reluctantly did it when arguing did no good. Elevator broke down on a daily basis, once with us in it for 30 minutes in pitch darkness until they pried the doors open. Toilets stopped up, beds were uncomfortable. The only positive was the location across from the beach and walking distance to restaurants and bars. Hotel is run down and busted in general.

First and only stay at the Blue Chairs

As I have never been to Puerto Vallarta before, I wanted to stay in a gay friendly hotel. I researched my options and decided on the Blue Chairs Resort. I stayed there for over 8 days during the month of July. I was in the "ocean front" room, on the 4th floor. Mind you, I am not a "needy queen", and can survive just as easily in a fox hole as well as the wardoph astoria. I found this hotel to below standard on so many levels. 1. The water pressure to the shower was that of a small child spitting on you. (My friends had the same issues in their rooms). 2. The drain to the shower always backed up. 3. The toliet handle had to be held down for 10 seconds just to make sure the toliet flushed. 4. The one and only elevator was broken 80% of the time. 5. Stairwell covered in beetles and cockroaches. 6. Internet was not realiable. 7. Air-conditoner worked, but it was either, on or off, no way to adjust the temperature. 8. The roof top bar was OK, great view of the sunset, but same old thing every night, a few strippers pulling out their "members" for fat old men, who could not get laid with a blow up doll. 9. Hanging out by the beach was the best, but sometimes the service was slow. I sat close to the water alot. It would take the waiters along time to stop by to see what I wanted. I have and do tip alot, so I imagine they were just busy. However, I did see the waiters run up and try to entice women to sit on that location when they walked by. I can go on and on, but I would not stay here again, there are too many other choices. I found this hotel run downed, and nothing to offer its clients, except being close to the water. However, one can stay at a nicer hotel and still be close to the beach. I would visit PV in a hearbeat, I would never stay at this hotel again.

WARNING! THEY STOLE FROM MY ROOM

Hands down the worst experience of my life. Very precious stuff was stolen from my room. Cash and my engagement ring. When I whent to report it to the staff, they did not help me what so ever and then they implied that I was lying. When I asked for the general manager, [...], the staff stated that he was not coming because he was extremely busy. The next thing they told me was to go to the police station but they did not even offer me an addres nor assistance on how to get there. I waited for the manager for close to two hours and when he came down he was extremely annoyed, aggressive, and confrontational. This was the last thing I was expecting. When I asked him if he had found anything about shad had been stolen from me he said that it was none of the staff. I was the only one in the room and no one but me and there staff had access to the room so it was either me or my stuff mysteriously disappeared from the room. Draw your own conclusion but it does not take a roket scientist to figure out how the stuff disappeared. If you are planning on staying there my advise is that you don't and run away from these place as fast as you can and don't look back and spread the word so this does not happen to someone else. I filed a report with the police station, the us embassy, proffeco, and have an interview with a newspaper to publish my experience. I had booked the hotel for 5 nights but only stayed there for two and they did not even offer to refund my money. I went back in two different occasions to look for the manager and they finally told me that he was on vacation for the next 6 days. How convenient. This just makes me more suspicious. I will keep posting until management gives me an answer. Thank you for reading.

Room no so great

It didnt have towels or coffee. The service was not good although the food was surprisingly not so bad. The staff was nice. Next time i would stay at a hotel with a nicer room near blue chairs. The prices in the area are cheaper than the pricey blue chairs.

great location,

great location... right on the gay beach and a 10-minute walk to most of the gay nightlife and restaurants. accommodations are adequate but nothing spectacular (no fridge or minibar, not even an alarm clock), but the room was clean, there was air conditioning, a flatscreen TV, and a shower with enough room for two. **be warned: regardless of how many people are on the reservation (I was there alone and made the reservation for two), they charge what I've dubbed a "trick fee" -- meaning if you bring in "guests" they charge 200 pesos for up to three hours or 400 pesos for an overnight guest. kind of ridiculous in my opinion, but overall a good place to stay if you're looking for convenience and no frills.
