A Perfect Beach Party!

Perfect location if you are looking for beach, fun and making new friends. The staff is very helpful, professional and extremely friendly. Room and public areas are well kept. For the value, you can't ask for more. We stayed for a week at the end of August and had a terrific time in a junior suite with excellent view and service. Only problems (and they were minor ones): the room needs better lighting, a microwave and maybe a little more items in the kitchenette. But really, none of that made any difference. The reception staff (Martin, Boris, Frederick) were fun and welcoming. The waiters at the excellent beach bar and restaurant (Moises, Francisco, Pedro, etc.) and at the fun rooftop bar (David, Alberto, etc.) are excellent. Thanks to Ramona and Carlos too. The whole team does an incredible job.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

You can walk to the beach straight from your room, have drinks and delicious snacks; sit on a blue beach chair and relax; under a "palapa" (or under the burning sun if you prefer). You don't have to worry about bringing cash with you since you can charge it to your room (our final tab was accurate and the prices good). And your belongings are taken care of while you swim or go for a walk! Perfect!

Fun Getaway

We had to change rooms two times. Rooms came with no bathroom tissue, no remote, dead phone, light bulbs out, no hangers in closet, sandy, dirty floors, minimal maid service, poor cable reception, no towels for shower, poor water pressure, and sheets that fell off the bed after ten minutes. However, that said, the friendly staff was always trying to accommodate after the fact, and always had a smile on their face. I would still say at this hotel again because of the very reasonable price and the absolute best beach front location. Two very important requirements for my trip. Also the property is under new room construction, so we had to put up with drilling and workers all over the place. Power went off once as well.

Better than expected

The hotel is still under construction but not as many problems with it as read here. The beach is great the staff is friendly. The water pressure is awful and the hot water takes an hour to get to the shower. Overall the experience was nice. I expected far worse reading the reviews but it's another country. I'd stay again

Horrible Hotel with excellent service

I feel terrible for the friendly staff that has to work in this pit. Our "suite" had a closet door lock on one of the exterior doors that we had to prop a chair against for security and one of the sliding glass door locks was held on with failing drywall screws. The view of the ocean was nice but the view of the unfinished pool one floor below and the surrounding construction was atrocious. Avoid this place at all costs.

Like others, not returning

This hotel is on the gay beach. They have fun shows (not that we went to any this trip). Other than that, there are many better places in the area. In no particular order: delayed check-in, no towels, floors not swept, no hot water (one day only), painting coming off outside wall, shocked by lamp, bad customer service, dirty towels not replaced, only one room key available (although offered to get a 2nd one cut the next day), free breakfast not great (even after upgraded for issues), slowest & smallest elevator, old furniture, phone sometimes worked, 3 hours to get towels and too far from most of our trips activities. Every couple we spoke with at the hotel had issues and said they would not stay there again. We got a good rate for a last minute trip. Fortunately, we have been to PV many times and knew where to go to enjoy our trip. We will return to PV, just not the Blue Chairs.

Great location and beach Ok place to stay

We were initially placed in an ocean front room with an obstructed view due to an unfinished and old construction site. We were moved to a room with a spectacular view the next day at our request. Be aware that the hotel is in a constant state of construction. The staff does their best to accommodate the inconvenience but it appears this will be a reality for the for seeable future. The bar on the roof and the pool are outdated and need some TLC. The location is perfect to walk across the street to the beach and to walk to bars and restaurants.

A Good time in PV

the hotel is dated and a little old but good for the value. the staff is friendly and very welcoming. it is located in a great spot. I will surely return to the Blue Chairs! it is not for those who want the comfort of a 5 star but if you want to ruff it a bit and just enjoy it is worth the money. you are paying for ambiance and location.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

stay away from the touristy places and just check to see where the locals eat. be ready to do without A/C at most places so stick to places that you can eat & move on.

First time in Vallarta and Bad hotel choice

I'm writing because of our recent trip we took to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I was very displeased with the entire stay, because of the construction that was going on everyday and very early in the morning. Our room was dusty, and shower rods were on the floor, and the hotel towels smelled. Construction workers were banging on the walls and were on our balcony yelling waking us up early morning. Aside from this issue the staff was very pleasant all around. But in the future if we had known that the hotel was in the middle of a renovation, we would have booked elsewhere. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
