Good location but very expensive for the price

Good location, clean hotel, the rooms are very small and very noisy, the beds are also small, the price is very expensive for what you get. Breakfast is not good and also expensive. For this price look somewhere else.

This is the place to stay.

The hotel has been recently remolded so the beds, showers, toilets are all new. The staff was excellent and for the price I would give this hotel 5 stars. The restaurant was over priced but there are many places to eat nearby. This hotel is a short block from the city center. I have family in Puebla and my next trip I will stay again at the Hotel San Leonardo.

Relaxing Stay

Would recommend Mon, Aug 19, 2013
The hotel staff was great and most of them spoke some english so communication was never a problem. The room itself was excellent but had no view. The bathroom shower didn't have a shower curtain when I checked in, but was immediately replaced upon request. Unfortunately the shower curtain was about four inches to short so water splattered all over the bathroom floor while showering. The hotel had an outdoor pool which was located on the fourth floor but was tiny in size so great for standing aroun soaking but no swimming. Al in all considering the location and historical structure of the hotel I say it was great.

Dining

Main town square a short five minute walk from hotel.

SAN LEONARDO HOTEL, PUEBLA, ROOM NOT READY AT 3pM, ELEVATOR BROKE 3X'S IN 24 HOURS

Would not recommend Mon, Aug 15, 2011
WELL THIS HOTEL LOBBY IS PRETTY......A BIT TATTERED! ROOM IS AVERAGE, BED IS OLD AND MATTRESS IS COVERED WITH WET SPOTS. SERVICE IS POOR, WHEN U ASK FOR PILLOWS THEY NEVER EVER COME. THE ELEVATOR WAS BROKE 3X'S IN 24 HOURS, LONG WALK TO 8TH FLOOR. ROOM WAS NOT READY AT 3PM.......AND WE LEFT HOME AT 5AM........THE STAFF ONLY PRETENDS TO SPEAK ENGLISH....NOT WORTH THE MONEY.......SPEND A LITTLE MORE AT THE CAMINO REAL........

Time saver

SAVE TIME BY NOT BOOKING SAL LEONARDO, GO TO CAMINO REAL, VERY SHORT WALK ACROSS ZOCOLO.

Very Nice and centrally located

Would recommend Tue, Jan 11, 2011
Small hotel, Very Clean and very well located. The center of town is a beauty, recognized by the U.N. as a historic site to be preserved

Dining

Go to "el Sócalo" (center plaza), many restaurants - very nice. Beware: I was first offered a very dark, no view, room, even though I paid for upgrade. Did not accept. Then I was offered one that was a little better. Then a third one that was modern, bright and with a view. From the room you could see some of the 365 churches in Puebla, and the volcano with a snow top. You can walk to artisan shops, and cafe's.

Great value, super-close to the zocalo

Would recommend Sun, Jan 9, 2011
The hotel was very nice. The lobby is beautiful, in the style of an old and elegant Puebla house. The rooms were clean and everything worked fine. Our room did not have a safe-deposit box, however. You could deposit your passport and other items on a safe-deposit at the reception. That's a second best option, and may not be available of the hotel is full, as they seem to have only a limited amount of safe-deposit boxes at the lobby. Everyone was very friendly, and the hotel was a block or two from the zocalo. Great location in a great city.

great location, elegant clean hotel

Would recommend Sun, Dec 5, 2010
I attended a conference for some of the days and my husband relaxed and enjoyed the sights. Puebla is beautiful and clean--really a wonderful city,. the hotel was perfect for us. Choose a room with outside windows and view --definitely worth the extra price. Having a sparking clean, well located hotel made the trip perfect.
