charming hotel but...
Nice hotel with Mexican charm but be prepared to not sleep much. The rooftop bar/nightclub is loud and reverberates down to all the rooms. It stays open well past 3:00 (even during the week)and people were still making noise until 5:30 am Sunday morning. The rooms are ok but need to upgrade to Master Suite to get a nicer room. Staff speaks very little English but are very nice and cordial. The Italian restaurant across the street is excellent and inexpensive. Hotel is located near the Zacola with many places to eat and shop, and is always busy. Outdoor markets are located within a few blocks of hotel

My stay at Hotel Pebla de Antano was great!
Can't beat the value nor location. Just steps from the cathedral and with a good restaurant. Across the street and a few doors down is a great pizza place (as in Italian-style pizza, wood oven baked, etc.). Everything there is to see in Puebla is walking distance. Ambiance is wonderful. Room was ceramic tiled everywhere. The only issues are that restaurant doesn't open until 8 am, the street noise and exhaust from motorcycles/scooters comes into restaurant (Be sure to take a seat away from the windows.), and there isn't always hot water. I would stay here again.

The hotel was charming and the room was very nice. The room key system was not working properly, causing us to waste time on several occasions, having to go back to the front desk. Only two members of the hotel staff spoke much English. The food in the restaurant was good, although the food was not very warm in weekend buffet. My girlfriend and I both liked the Hotel Puebla de Antano and would stay there again. The hotel was good value for the cost. The location, near the zocolo, was fantastic!

The food was generally very good and reasonably priced. I did get sick, apparently from the food in a small cafe, on my last night in Puebla.

Beautiful hotel
I took my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. I ordered the romantic room package ($50 - flowers,champagne/fruit plate,rose petals) from the manager Raul who did a wonderful job for me. The rooftop bar has spectacular views as well. Great for couples! Only downside is no pool, gym, or AC otherwise a great place!
