A reliable American business-class hotel, for a very good price. As a tourist, the only real drawback is that it's about a 10 minute cab ride to the zocalo and the centro historico (about $5 to $8 US, depending on the driver). The included
breakfast buffet is very good (though the coffee is not - but there's a nice coffee shop across the street in a very high price hotel.) Staff are very nice and friendly.
Very good. The hotel is new and modern. Room was clean and comfortable. Included buffet breakfast is excellent, well above comparable hotels. Staff is thorough, polite and helpful. The zocalo is about a five minute taxi ride (usually around 50
pesos), so if that's where you're aiming this is just bit out of the way. We chose the hotel because my wife is extremely reactive to mold/mildew allergens, which are often found in older historic hotels even of the nicest variety. This hotel was completely safe for her.
My wife is hyper-reactive to mold/mildew allergens, so we picked this first time in 2011 because it's new and nice. Good choice - everything is spotlessly clean, no problems if allergies are an issue for you, also. Bottom line: clean and modern,
but lacking the personality and charm of older (potentially moldy) hotels. We've just had a second visit (Feb 2013) and had the same experience - friendly, accommodating staff; really excellent breakfast buffet included; modern, clean, nice rooms. If you're heading for the zocalo, it's a bit distant, perhaps 5 to 10 minutes - usually a 50 peso taxi ride each way. Thoroughly professional, business class hotel, mostly Mexican business travelers and families. Good value for the price.
I was flying into Puebla and then driving to the gulf coast in a rental car. The location is close to the main routes to get to the freeways. The security at the hotel was impressive, which is comforting with the security concerns for foreigners.
