Located on the premises of 16th century Convent of La Conception
that belonged to the wealthy order of the Conceptions Clarists from 1593 until 1856. The Orient Army that would defend the city on May 5, 1862 then occupied it as an army quarter.
In the heart of the noble and heroic city of Puebla you can find the buildings that are closer to the Spanish architectonic influence, with its fusion elements from the Viceroyalty age. That is why taking a walk down its street is a pleasure for the senses and invitation to imagine how our cultural crossbreeding took place.
Camino Real Puebla has 84 rooms and suites decorated in the purest Viceroyalty age style and received the "Four Diamond Award" granted by the American Automobile Association.
It is located a few steps away from the historical center's main attractions, 5 minutes away from the Puebla Conventions Center, 15 minutes away from the main malls, 15 minutes away from the main industrial parks, 35 minutes away from the Hermosa Serdan Airport and 2 hours away from the Benito Juarez Airport from Mexico City.
Hotel Amenities:
Business center, handicapped access, roof Jacuzzi, typical restaurant, New Mexican Cuisine Restaurant, room service, concierge, meeting rooms, cable TV, mini bar, air conditioning, defroster, data port.
Camino Real Puebla Centro Rooms
- Master Suite
- Located on the fourth level, this room is one of the two rooms that have a Jacuzzi. A spacious hall is tastefully separated from a bedroom in the same level. There is a large terrace outside that offers a view of the magnificent dome of the Iglesia de la Concordia.
- Junior Suite
- The taste for space and comfort made it necessary to have a special place where a living room would have a special meaning. In the Camino Real Suites art, the guest who wishes to be part of the history he sees around him can enjoy space and luxury. You additionally get the following with these suites: VIP treatment, welcome fruit or typical dessert basket, check in suite, luxury amenities, bathrobe and slippers, radio/alarm clock, iron and ironing board, fruit basket or regional candy platter.
- Deluxe Room
- The atmosphere reproduced inside each of the rooms brings to mind the Viceroyalty age due to the furnishings, distribution and aesthetics. As we said before, glass, wood and cloth play a prevailing and harmonic role in the 16th century decor. The sizes of the rooms vary; however, they all offer the following services: Air conditioning, carpeted or wooden floors, satellite TV with remote control, coffee maker, mini bar, worktable, digital phone with data port and hair dryer.

Not Excellent but Good Enough
The hotel is very well located right in the city center but not in those crowded streets. All hotel staff were nice, such an attention that cannot pass unnoticed. The hotel is worth seeing, it's a historic building; the decor is nice (old like). The rooms were very good size, my only complain would be the beds, they were a bit hard and old. Overall a good place to stay, I'd go back no question about it.

a dirty room with old fashioned furnitur
a very poor hotel in a nice location. Small window without any view and fresh air. Dirty carpet and seatings. A quite clean and nice bathroom. A cold patio to stay in or have breakfast. Need a huge change.

Magnifico!!
I have visited Mexico many times and the total experience in Puebla was memorable. To have converted a convent that was over 400 years old into a first class hotel had to take some imagination. Obviously, soundproofing was not necessary when it was a convent, so crying babies can be easily heard depending on your room location; however, that complaint could not ruin the experience. I loved this place!! The hidden courtyards were a delight to discover all containing beautiful flowers and greenery... each one a perfect place for contemplation and meditation. The staff was wonderful, everyone willing to be of assistance not because they were working me for a tip but obviously because they were proud of their country and took pride in their work. The "ciudad antiqua" was walkable and everyone should visit one of the Talavera Fabricas to observe the making of this exquisite pottery. This whole city was one of many smiling faces, warm friendly people. One experience that was easy to miss was the Luchadora Muueum... this was one of a kind and a truly unique experience. The Sunday buffet at the hotel was a gourmet delight. The only thing that could improve the hotel would be to make the roof top more user friendly... the views of the city from up there were incredible. The roof was a great spot for taking pictures and counting church domes and towers. This is an an experience which should not be missed!

Camino Real Puebla
Sometimes we would walk in or out, and there would be Mariachi players. The last day, they played during breakfast. They scrubbed the room and bathroom every day at great length, as if they were your weekly maids. Probably, continental breakfast is included, but we were family and friends, who gathered every morning for the breakfast buffet, to sit and chat and catch up, and eat and eat.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The bank is not far from the hotel - about 3 or 4 blocks, on the far end of the nearby park. The exchange rate is very good, and hotel exchange rates never are. Another hint - a couple of my friends got sick, not using bottled water for the toothbrush, and eating fresh fruit, raw vegetables, or non-boiled milk for the coffee. These things are important.

Friendly and close to all major sites!
My mother and I stayed here for 5 nights, the hotel staff was very friendly, a little late with the laundry but other then that excellent. They do not have a pool or spa, but plenty to eat and drink. The rooms were clean - the only thing is that they book wedding parties on the weekends and the noise its pretty bad and the party doesn't end until 3 or 4 a.m. this is the only draw back and we had to experience that. I did ask for ear plugs and they were out -

totally unacceptable
the front desk does not exist. Bar tenders, when asked where to check in, did not even respond. Unfriendly and disinterested staff. Filthy everywhere. dust months old. Elevator got stuck. It is called a 5 star, but does not even deserve 1. One towel for two people. No solid soap, just one small vial for two people. Broken and cracked ceramic tile in bath. Lighting in bath almost non-existing. Coffee in room was offered for $2.- a cup, but could be made. Water bottle offered for $ 2.-. No pool, no exercise room. Dining and bar too expensive compared with adjoining restaurants and hotels. My wife and I had room # 305, very small. SWe will never stay there any more, compared with other Camino Reals we have liked thru-out.

Great location, but 5 stars??
The Camino Real-Puebla Centro Historico is located in a former convent very close to the Cathedral, and the public areas are lovely. However, the two rooms I have used both showed some wear and tear, as well as some quirks which might be viewed as endearing or annoying, depending on your outlook. The beds were comfortable, the shower functioned well, but the A/C made quite a racket. Sometimes, in a strange city, it's nice to have a place--lobby bar or pool, for example--where other travelers might gather, a place condusive to conversation. This hotel does not have any such place, unfortunately.

Restaurant in the hotel is expensive, but there are plenty of less expensive places to eat nearby.
