Ideal spot for a girls weekend

The Tides is in a word, perfect. The staff is attentive, kind and english-speaking. The grounds are well maintained and the hotel layout unique. The spa is an oasis of serenity. The food is delicious (a bit pricey). And, the margaritas are served on the rocks with the finest tequila. Seven girls celebrating their 40th birthdays enjoyed every minute of their vacation at the Tides without a single complaint. It was sheer bliss.

Tides delivers on expectations and more

Tides is a small boutique hotel and spa on the Riviera Maya but apart from the crush of other tourists. Setting in coastal forest on the beach and low number of very tasteful villas makes for personal space, calm and quiet. Staff is top shelf, knowing exactly where the line is between being attentive and being invasive... and really will follow through on your special requests, whether these be for a special meal or arranging an outing. The hotel spa is also excellent and comparable in quality of service to high end in the USA. Very highly recommended!!

The spa is really top notch - not just an add-on to make the brochure look good.

Good for romantic couples

Lovely welcoming staff and friendly service. Secluded location was very peaceful with a 15 min cab ride into Playa for about $15 american dollars. This is great if you want to get away from it all and just lie on the beach. We went to Playa every day so hired a vespa to get in and out.

Wow...Just Go!

If you want luxury, pampering and peace go here. The resort looks better in person than it does on the site. The rooms are amazing. Take the outdoor shower... you will never want to shower indoors again. Don't go to the tides if you are worried about every dollar you will spend. But compaired to the all inclusives it is almost the same cost...unless you drink all day long.
