Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and Spa All Inclusive

It was difficult and expensive to get from the airport to the resort. While nice, they acted like they had never accomodated a diabetic traveler before, and we had a hard time keeping her insulin from ruining. If it had, we have no doubt she would have died there. There was ALOT of walking to simply just get food, though the food was truly excellent. The room service menu was terrible. I would say that this resort is intended for a younger crowd, but the nightlife entertainment really lacked, and shut down early. The pools closed at night, which was odd as well. This resort only did one thing well, and that was the food. Everything else was unfocused and the staff was ambiguous to a fault. It was beautiful, but poorly managed. We were taken advantage of, and will not return.

L'hôtel était très bien pour les enfants mais tous les services payants sont très, très chers à la limite du vol, même les excursions. Surtout n'achetez pas les excursions Delphinus pour le dauphins. C'est trop cher pour l'activité et le personnel est très chiant, pas le droit de prendre des photos et tout est très minuté. Le buffet de l'hôtel est excellent mais les restaurants à la carte moyens. Le service des restaurants à la carte laissent à désirer. Les moustiques sont très désagréables. Le magasin est très cher et ils noys surveillent comme si nous étions des voleurs. très d.sagréable.

Bed and pillow were too hard and difficult to sleep on. Disco music was too loud and could be heard in our rooms up until 1 am Should allow more than two restaurant meals Our room was close the the smelly sewage pump next to the walk. It was offensvive

We traveled Easter week--which we have been told the busiest time for the resort. Having said that, the hotel never seemed overly crowded. We always had chairs at the beach, though shaded areas at the pool needed to be secured early (8 am) in the morning. Truly no problem. Food was good. Plenty of options and better than expected for an all inclusive--value-priced resort. Liquor. Is not top shelf--but again , not paying for it. Bartenders were fantastic. Especially Luis, Fernandez and drat, I forgot the others. But all staff was terrific. Activities. Really everything you want to do is here. Anyone that is bored has serious issues.

Hotel was sufficient, pool was nice kids waterslide area was good but for younger kids. Kids club not very good organized activities not very organized, would not put a younger child in kids club!

The amenities were awesome, the food and food options were great, and the drinks were always available!!

everyone was very nice, Food was very good. The beach was the best I have ever seen. Great place for family with children many many activities.

This was a perfect getaway! Direct flight from New York-- we were on the beach in under 4 hours! Intercontinental staff is very accommodating and service was great. We spent our whole time on the beach, though the pool was beautiful. Many staff to bring your heart's desire to your lounge chair. Great beach for walking, water was a perfect temp and lots of waves to body surf. We took the bus, right outside the hotel, to Playa del Carmen! Ate at a fabulous bistro. We also elected the katamaran snorkling trip one day which was terrific. We are in love... and now thinking where to go next???

Just got back from a 7 night stay at Sandos, overall was amazing and would definitely return! The location was great, right on the beach but mixed in with a jungle-like atmosphere, so it stood out from many of the other all-inclusives I've stayed at in that it wasn't just a beach hotel. Also very close cheapr cab ride to Downtown Playa del Carmen. The staff were all amazing, i can't say enough about how friendly and accomodating everyone was! Go to bartender Roy in the sports bar, he rocked! he'll make you welcome shots too! My words to the wise are to bring your own hair dryer, the one in the room was basically useless, it shouldn't even be there you're better off not attempting to use it and getting aggravted! and also, they have insect repellent amply located about the resot... use it! it's there for a reason. I came home with an insane amount of bug bites. But if those are my only complaints, I'm ok with it! overall amazing time!!

For the investment of a vacation it is not the resort to stay at. The food was not good, the rooms were terrible. I would suggest not staying here.
