Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and Spa All Inclusive

This location is absolutely gorgeous! My friends and I went for a wedding (which went off without a hitch thanks to the awesome staff). Between the wedding and the drinks I don't think I could have had a better time. I met so many great people from different countries and the kids that we were with were wore out every night because there was so much. We did really want a karaoke portion because with such a diverse crowd I feel like it would have been a hit but we ended up meeting so many people it was somewhat of a just hopeful desire. We also loved how safe we felt while there. As we walked we never felt like anything bad would happen. I will definitely tell others to go as well. We have made plans already to go back next year with some friends from other countries that we met there.

This hotel is beautiful with fantastic staff! The food is good and the shows at night were fantastic! The pools were a little on the chilly side but they were very clean and beautiful! The kids aqua park is amazin!

Our toilet never worked, we spent each day calling staff to come fix it. Wish they would have moved us. Staff was excellent. Cheap tickets screwed our transportation to the hotel. Ended up costing us an addtional 165.00 round trip. How they messed it up is beyond me. They so owe me.

Hotel staff wass great, got a a free uprgade for the adults area. The only problem that we had was that our room was on the first floor and many bugs enter from under the door. If you are planning to stay in this hotel stay in the upper floors.

This was an ok hotel. I should know better than to stay at an all inclusive and expect good food. How they remove flavor from everything is a mystery. We were unable to have the ala carte meal where we wanted as all reservations "were taken". We tried the restaurant anyway, and it was empty. We did get into another "fully reserved" restaurant that was also empty. On the plus side, the staff was friendly, and we liked the spa pool. And the beach was nice as well.

I'm a little disappointment with the reception service. The attention for the check-in was delayed and I did complaint about the room ( humidity and cigarette smell) but the hotel never response me why !! But the food , the activities , Staff, the beach and sand are fantastic !!

We had a great time at this resort. Honestly, when we first arrived at the hotel and found out that our room was about a 7 minute walk to the beach we were very disappointed, but as we started to explore the facility and all that it had to offer we were very impressed. The beach, pools, food, drinks, and service were all excellent. The grounds were amazing, very well kept and so much to explore. Every day we took a new route back to our room and found something new. It made the walk to the room well worth it.

A very good experience. Staff at the hotel where extremely helpful and generous with their time. Shows were outstanding as was the layout of a very large complex. Suggest that if you have kids, try to stay in the 20-30s units. Don't forget to bring socks for your children as they are needed in the kids club. Otherwise, plan to spend about $7.5 USD per pair. Upon your arrival, make reservatons for al la carte restaurants. The times slots fill up early. We were told for the Brazilian steak house that its was adults only night. We came to discover that other children where there and our reseervation was only one with Adults Only. A little more transparancy about reservation policies would be useful. We are not sure if there is a limit on number of "kids" at restaurants. The buffets where always well stocked and had a very good selection of foods. Be prepared for the vacation ownwership presentation as soon as you check-in. We avoided and felt our time was better spent at the beach, in the pools, or eating.

my wife and i went for a week's vacation enjoyed every second of it most of our time was spent cenote exploring, snorkeling, and deep bed diving.

The kids (ages 5 and 2) had a great time! They LOVED the waterpark, which is actually much better than the pictures suggest. The beach is great with lots of palapas and beach chairs. Snorkeling is mediocre at best, since the fish are only found out by a man-made rock-like structure off-shore. But we did see urchins, parrotfish, angelfish, and some others I can't identify. We didn't snorkel in the cenotes, but I heard that there are large eels and such to see there...too cold for the kids on our trip. Our room did flood during 48 hrs of major rain (it came in under the doors), but the staff cleaned it up well and they gave us lots of towels to soak it up. The food was just okay and the reservation restaurants were sort of bad. But we didn't go for the food, so we were still happy with finding a little something on the buffet. We're a bit picky, too, but there was lots of variety. We didn't like the snack bar. The food there was kind of gross. We did see monkeys, parrots, peacocks, donkeys, raccoons, weird orange raccoon-like animals, and iguanas wandering around. TAKE BUG SPRAY! We did and we still got bit a thousand times. TAKE SOCKS for the kids and adults who will go into the clubhouse to play. You can't enter without them and they're about $7/pair in the store...without a large size stock. The kids LOVED The clubhouse. Everything seemed safe and clean and it was really a great time. The resort is HUGE....it was a 10 minute walk from our room to food...I recommend shoes that DON'T RUB YOUR KIDS' WET TOES! :) Loved it! Would go back...oh, and no elevator. If you have a stroller, request a ground-floor room. Again...BUG SPRAY!!!!!
