RIU Tequila - All Inclusive

Decent to good entertainment- wonderful costumes and dancing from the house entertainment! Great Mexican show, and Casino dancers. Two of the specialty restaurants were very average, but the nightly buffet was excellent in quality, variety, and theme. Proliferation of wildlife was disconcerting, but not bothersome. Rooms, t.v., were average, but not a hinderance. We spent very little time there anyway! Beds and pillows were comfortable. We did not mind the walk to the beach. It is not far, and the shuttle was very accessible. We had a great time and look forward to a return trip!

the beach is amazing, the hotel is very well located, about 30 minutes walk to reach the beginning of the 5th Avenueor 7$ us for the taxi. The hotel is very clean. We were a little disappointed with the a la carte restaurants. Steakhouse in there was no filet mignon and the food was very average. For the Asian restaurant the food was really good, it was a small buffet where you had to use. For the buffet there was plenty of choice and it was very good. What we liked least is that if you want a drink anywhere in the hotel or on the beach you have to go because there is nobody to do the service. For internet we have the right to 90 minutes free per day. If you take just 30 minutes and you close your session you can not return until 24 hours. Otherwise I think you can pay $ 15 per day. To get to the beach you have to walk about 7-8 minutes or you can take the shuttle, take a walk through the Yucatan and you'll probably get to see the monkeys. Overall it's a good hotel.....

Loved it, great value. Second trip already looking forward to next year! Rooms and grounds well kept, all the workers were friendly and would go out of their way for you. Would have liked the pool to have stayed opened later. Beds were a little hard but you could ask for a mattress topper which helped a little. Nice that you had access to several other Riu hotels. Easy access to beach by tram car or walking. If you like walking its a nice walk to Fifth ave. or seven dollars by taxi.

The only reason I rated the Room Comfort "Average" is because the beds were too hard. Other than that the room was clean, the location was great and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. This hotel is not on the beach but it's only about a five minute walk to the sister-hotel's beach and it's a great beach.

The Riu Tequila is a very comfortable, spacious resort. My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at this beautifully landscaped and relaxing paradise, we couldn't have made a better choice. The food is fantastic, the staff is very friendly and helpful, plentiful choices for entertainment, just a great time all around! We can,t wait to go back !

The Riu Tequila was just beautiful. They had a large choice of food options, highly friendly and helpful staff, and great amenities (pool, shows, bars). It is a short walk to the beach and you have 2 other resorts that you can take avantage of. The only draw back was the beds were a little hard.

The hotel is located across the street and away from the beach. If you don't mind a little walking-- not a bad thing given it is all inclusive... Our only issue were the misquitos in our room. We didn't ask to change rooms, so it was our own decision to stay. But the misquitos would just fly in when we opened our door to go in or out. This is misquito season it seems. Food was good. Steakhouse is very good. Mexican not as good as the Mexican restaurant. You can also eat breakfest + lunch. We had stayed at the Playacar before, so we ended there a lot of the time.. All in all a great stay..

Riu Tequila is a wonderful resort! My husband and I have stayed at this resort several times. The staff are great. They are very friendly and will help you in any way. The food is wonderful. You will not go hungry. Their cocktails are also very good and they have a wide selection with good name brand booze. We love their rum though. The rooms are very clean. This resort is right on the beach and its grounds are beautiful. There is a lot to do games and sports wise. You will never find a more beautiful beach. Entertainment in the evening could be improved but if you have never been before you might enjoy. I recommend this resort. You will have a blast!

Excellent staff and great food. This was our first all inclusive and we would definitely go back to the riu tequilla.

The Riu Resorts in Playacar are all beautiful and well worth the trip. I found the staff at all of the resorts to be the most helpful group of people I've ever encountered. The landscaping is also the most beautiful landscaping I've seen.
