VEGAS/ MIAMI HOTEL FEEL IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The entire property is very posh; from the lobby, to the room down to the restaurants. Its brand new, and super clean. I have stayed at all-inclusive properties where the food is very questionable. The food here is EXCELLENT. I had a lobster tail ($30) extra, that was one of the best I ever had. Every meal is made to order, you don't have to eat the same food on a buffet, I can't say enough praises. The hotel had plenty of action at night and Saturday was a Vegas style pool party. I read some of the other reviews about the beach, but it is a short walk and the beach and it was beatiful. Yes it had a few weeds in patches, but it really wasn't even an issue. If you want a beatiful hotel, at a cheap price, book it!!!! You will be glad you did.

Great vacation
This is definitely a 5 star resort. The hotel, the staff, the food was all outstanding. Upon arrival we were upgraded at no charge which made my wife extremely happy. I think the only negative was that the water temperature in the pool was a bit cold. Other than that, only nice things to say about the hotel. We highly recommend it.

This is fine dining fare. It is a culinary delight and served with elegance and class. Fuego & Passion restaurants are outstanging. Don't expect big portions but what you get is outstanding. You won't go away hungry.

Great Resort
Very relaxing vacation. We were upgraded to Royal Service for free, and were treated so well. Staff is excellent- very friendly and helpful. Our only negative experience was at the Lapala grill for lunch. Poor service and food was cold. Grey Line was not the best for ground transportation. Hard to find them at the airport. Had to return to airport for someone had paid the wrong rate, and listen to their arguments. We were told to meet a rep. at the hotel the next day to pick up a return voucher. No one showed up- sat there for an hour. Wasted a morning of vacation.

Bring alot of dollar bills. Everyone seems to expect a tip. Wish they would ad an extra charge to daily rate for tips, so wouldn't constantly wonder how much to tip, and have money in your pocket.

Great resort.
Just returned from our trip to the La Perla. We have been to several all inclusive resorts and this is the best by far. For some reason we were given an upgrade to Royal Service and that was fantastic. Upon arrival we were given a cell phone, so we could call our butler for almost anything we needed or wanted. Food at all the dinners was great. We especially liked Mole- our waiter prepared fresh guacamole right at our table and it was wonderful. Had only one bad meal- lunch at Lapalapa. A simple burger and fries turned out badly- fries were cold and burger undercooked.

The water is very hard. Bring your own conditioner if you want to be able to get a comb through your hair.The conditioner in the room is bad, and to buy some at the gift shop is 8 dollars for Suave.

Great bang for the buck
The resort location is a bit towards the interior and the beach is not usable for the most part. However the actual resort facilities are fabulous. The food is just great and the amenities are all that you paid for. We particularly loved the restaurants with the unlimited choice of food and drinks. Also, the night shows they have are an added treat. The pool, swim up bar, tiki huts (but with the beds) and the unlimited food made it all worthwhile. The massage is a bit expensive but we enjoyed the sauna, steam and jacuzzi. The rooms were clean and nice and service pretty good. Would come back again.

Not up to other all inclusive all adult Playa del Carmen area hotels we have used.
Not a recommended walk to 5th St in P del C. Bathroom is cramped at dual sink area. Service at resturants is average. All adult La Perla attached to La Mes??? that is a family hotel, so some venues are mixed. Beach is separated from rooms and pool by a narrow jungle. Voicemail instructions in Spanish only. Spa treatments were very good, spa amenities average. Example of service, great outdoor cigar bar, but twice the staff could not find the key to the humidor for 20 minutes.

Hotel was average for the price. Service in most restaurants were below average except for Fuergo and bars.. Rooms ok, very noisy.Location was fair. It's not right on the beach so you have to walk to beach. This hotel is not in walking distance to 5th avenue. It is in a very poor side of town and it doesn't appear safe. We took a taxi and it still took them 10 minutes to 5th. Food was fair. Service in buffet not good at all. We would order a tea every morning and got it only twice. If you are looking for all adult experience you won't find it there. You share some areas and restaurants with families traveling with children. We travel to playa two to three times a year and would not return to this one.
