Adults-only urban cosmopolitan hotel in Playa del Carmen
Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa is Playa del Carmen first luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of 5th Avenue amid Playa many shops, bars and restaurants. This intimate two story, adults only hotel offers two pools surrounded by lush landscaped gardens and chaise lounges, open air dining and lounge area, pool table and computer station with complimentary Internet access.
Mosquito Blue Hotel design elements stand out with its mix of contemporary European style and tropical Caribbean colors, created and designed by its Italian owner. The decor is tropical chic, a mixture of modern elegance with casual tropical living. The curving pools are surrounded with subtle lighting hidden among the tropical plants and winding paths to help achieve the mood. The centerpiece is the palapa thatched two story open air tent with a sofa and cushions below, and a billiard table above.
In the upper sitting area, guests enjoy a complimentary petit dejeuner in the morning of tea, coffee and fruit. Padded seats carved into the stone create a convivial meeting spot. Just two blocks away is Mosquito Blue beachfront sister hotel, where guests can enjoy a private beach club with day beds, lounge chairs, towels, food and wait staff.

- Deluxe Room
- Deluxe rooms offer the perfect vantage point to contemplate the moon and stars from the upper floor. Each room has a king-sized bed, a terrace, a table and umbrella, with a view of the swimming pool through the shady palm trees. These rooms accommodate two people.
- Standard Room
- On the ground floor have patio doors that open onto the lushly landscaped courtyard. Those on the upper floor have windows with views down to the pool area and gardens. The rooms are sophisticated and feature one king bed or two double beds (subject to availability). These rooms accommodate two people.
- Master Suite
- The vast 1,200 square foot master suite offers two bedrooms each with a king-size bed, a spectacular master bathroom plus a second en-suite bathroom and jacuzzi, a sitting area featuring 1900 Dutch-style furnishings, and a dining area.
The dining area seats six people comfortably and patio doors open out onto the second courtyard close to a semi-secluded swimming pool. This lavish suite offers unparalleled serenity and privacy. This room accommodates four people. (A rollaway bed is available for a fifth person for an extra charge and subject to availability.) - Junior Suite
- Spacious and luxurious, the junior suites offer a tastefully decorated sitting area. All of these suites are on the ground floor with patio doors leading out to the lush gardens and attractive pool area. An arch and steps divide the bedroom from the sunken living area.
The junior suites have a king-size bed, and a separate sitting area with a sofa. These rooms accommodate two people. (A rollaway bed is available for a third person for an extra charge and subject to availability.)

Location & Beach Breakfast Excellent
The location of this hotel, close to everything, makes it a really excellent choice. Breakfast at the Beach Club also makes this a winner. Pools are great as is the staff. Only negative is to watch out for the tiny, tiny ants, insects or whatever they are in the bathroom. Leave no food anywhere, and keep your bathroom stuff in your bag not on the counter. But they were really not a problem. Staff at the Beach Club really made you feel welcome.

The hotel location and staff are great. The location also means you're right in the middle of all the bars and clubs so expect loud music till very late hours...

Excellent location at the corner
Excellent location at the corner of the 5th Av and 10 st. which many night clubs are located, but the hotel is very quiet and relaxing. The rooms are big and have a pool view surrounded by a lot of vegetation. The service is very personalized. The only inconvenience which was not that bad is that the breakfast is served at the Mosquito Beach Hotel that is 2 blocks from this hotel. The beach club is there too. I strongly recommend this hotel for a sexy and relaxing vacations

Pay 3 nights, stay 2
Arriving at the front desk I say that i was staying just 2 nights instead of 3 and they dont want to give my money back of the third nigth.

Great Hotel
The hotel was awesome for the price. It felt and looked like it was the nicest hotel in the center of town by far. The lobby, restaurant and pool area were great. Would go again anytime!

Good times
Really stylish place in the midst of everything. Beach club at the sister hotel Mosquito Beach is wonderful and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is good too. We'll be back!

Tasteful, sophisticated and friendly
This is a tastefully appointed and well-tended small hotel, on the boutique side. The small grounds are elegantly tended, and the ambiance comes across as friendly, sophisticated and welcoming. The staff is attentive but not intrusive. The location is hard to beat, just a block from 5th avenue, the center of focus in Playa. Our standard room was on the smaller side, but quite adequate, and not really a quibble. Makes for a pleasant and relaxing vacation.

Standard Room
Room was a little small, but nice. TV was 15 inches, bathroom no room for your things. Safe Box charges a fee. Went to beach everyday 5 min walk. Be careful of room charges. Food and drinks are cheaper when you go 1 block away from 5th Ave.
