Jungle Paradice with a beach

I loved this resort. The natural setting was like living in a combined nature park and aviary. Eating at the buffet that had a waterfall and pond with a pair of swans and other waterfowl was delightful. The food and beverage service was outstanding!!! At 10:30 PM a live 7 piece band from Cuba with 3 singer played great Caribean-Latin-Afro dance music. The deserts were a cut above other all-inclusive resort I visited. I'm going back and highly recommend this resort. Playacar is a upscale Mexican and nice to walk around.

Two one hour massages for $43 US about 1.5 miles from the resort. My wife and I had 3 massages during our 4 day stay. The massages were very good. The facility was clean and private.

unbeatable location for the price

best food ever-and Im italian and picky- if you love nature and animals then you will fall in love with this hotel where you can watch moneys from 2 feet distance feeding on hotel trees or local "seretes" (like rabbits but with short ears)walking and playing on the hotel endless grass areas. Many more local species of wild animals and several species of birds share the trees and grass of the hotel. Entertainment group is friendly and the nite mini shows are good and sometimes very good.

breakfast and lunch at the two main restaurants -Tulum and Cozumel- are the best choices: much better food selection, service and settings than the other restaurants of the hotel.

Iberostar Tucan

The hotel grounds and beach were beautiful. Our children enjoyed seeing all the animals in the hotel's "jungle"- coatamundi, iguanas, agoutis, howler monkeys, flamingos, and more. The food in the buffets was fine - nothing spectacular but plenty of choices for picky children. We did not try the other restaurants because the buffet was easier with young children The rooms are okay - very clean if not luxurious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The swimming pools were on the cool side as was the weather for much of our stay. It was windy, rainy, and cooler than we expected. Overall, we had a good time, and I would recommend this hotel to others, especially if traveling with young children.

"Excellent service"

Just got back from a week stay at the Tucan. The staff at this hotel is excellent and will bend over backwards to try and make your stay as good as possible. The grounds are huge...so if you have trouble walking long distances, this is probably not the right hotel for you. The expanse of the hotel grounds is due in part of the large jungle filled with a variety of different animals...if this interest you...you will love it. The pool and the beach area are both large with a lot of lounge chairs so there is not much of a problem finding a place to sit. Omar at the reception desk is awesome...he is the man...and is very courteous and helpful. The beds are hard, so be sure to ask for a mattress pad...they will be happy to do this for you, just ask. Get a omelet at the restaurant by the pool, they are very good. We had a great stay, can't wait to go back!

Be sure to bring plenty of sun screen...it is way too expensive at the resort or even in the town of Playa. Bring inflatable floats for the pool and ocean...you'll be glad you did.

Friends' Vacation in the Sun

We've stayed here several times and enjoy our stays here where the ocean is beautiful and/or relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Plenty of activities are available. We also like walking down along the beach.

Wonderful new experience

We had a great time. The staff was so pleasant. Great food all the time. If you like HOT weather this is the place to visit. There is lots of activities, the staff is always getting people involved and they make you feel very comfortable. The hotel needs to improve the air conditioning system in the rooms, other wise room was great. I can't compare with any other resort because this is the first time I came to Mexico. Again your staff if fantastic, friendly and lots of smiles. Yes I would visit you again !!! :)

Great Resort

The beach was beautiful and very calm. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The grounds were well kept and great jungle atmosphere with monkeys and peacocks roaming around. We mostly enjoyed the beach and had massages on the beach. The buffet and other food areas were wonderful. Only thing was we did not get to go to restaurants because we did not book early enough - so book as soon as you arrive. Rooms were very clean but beds a little hard.

AMAZING!

This is the place to go if you like wildlife! The Staff was excellent in every way. We were in paradise there. the Buffet food was the same everyday but had a huge selection and was very fresh. the hotel is 5 minute cab ride or 25 minute walk to downtown Plya del carmen. The whole area is extremely safe and We are going back there ASAP. Also we talked to alot of people who have been to many of the other allinclusive resorts in the area and the TUCAN is one of the best choices. I highly reccommend this resort to people of all ages. Altough we did not really participate in any there were plenty of activities going on all day free of charge. Have fun!!!!!

5th avenue is 19 blocks of shops and restaurants you can get ANYTHING you could possibly want except for dog collars. I reccommend buying Tequilla to bring home at Walmart 3 blocks off the strip it was 1/4 the price of what they sell downtown and bringing it back is not an issue 3 - Liters per person !!

Great Place

The staff and management of this hotel makes your visit as perfect as it gets. It is well worth the extra hour trip from Cancun airport to the hotel. I can't really find anything I didn't like about the place. This was truly awesome vacation.
