Located in the heart of the fifth avenue the Copa Hotel doesnt lose the tranquility and mysticism that has become its trademark, tropical vegetation and a mix of Mexican colors, flavors and shapes. Weather is resting on a hammock chilling on the outdoor Jacuzzi or enjoying dinner in one of the famous restaurants of Playa del Carmen. The hotel also offers Reception and Jacuzzi.

Located directly on 5th Avenue but behind a wall that blocks out most of the noise. Price is cheap. We paid under $60/nt. The staff is friendly and stored our valuables while we were out since there are no room safes. There is only a fountain not
a pool but who cares? The beach is a block away. The locks on the sliding door entry are hard to operate. Expect hard beds and chairs as typical in Mexico. Room was clean, AC worked well, wifi is spotty in the rooms but strong in the garden area.
Located right on 5th Ave where the action is but behind a wall. You can barely hear the sounds in the garden and not in the rooms. Room was clean, AC was cold, wifi worked well but spotty in the rooms. They told us that upfront. Room had a
separate kitchen w gas stove, full fridge. Bedroom was separate w a door. No safe boxes in room but front desk stored our valuables while we were out for the day. Booked here and they had everything in order and a room card already filled out. A lot of small hotels in MX can be a bit disorganized w regards to big travel discount bookings.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Go a few blocks west to get off the busy 5th Ave and you'll find some excellent and cheap restaurants and bars.
Very very noisy. Bed is too small. Looks and feels like a very very cheap motel. If you are driving, there is no street parking and be prepared to pay 170 pesos to park in a garage 3 blocks away. No wifi in room.
If you do want to stay there
because of location, they sell room onsite for 50 USD per night and you can definitely bargain with them as well. It is by no means a 3 star hotel. (Not sure about peak season though. I went there in Feb)
