Encanto El Faro Luxury Ocean Front Condo - Hotel - Beach Front

A friend recommended this hotel to me, I couldn't ask for a better place, beach right there, one block from famous 5th ave. one block from all the clubs, lots of restaurants and beach clubs, and even that the clubs were just one block away, you could not hear anything when you were at the hotel. Food from the hotel restaurant was really good. I would definitely go back to El faro.

We had a great time at El Faro. The room was nice and upscale. The listing said that there was parking available but when we got there we realized that the parking was only for certain condos and ours did not have it which means you have to find street parking which is difficult. The beach was ok and the water was pretty murky compared to the water in Cancun and Tulum, but still ok. We only went in once and stayed in the pool the rest of the time. Everything is close and walking distance. The wi-fi was weak in our room so we had to post up in the hotel lobby which is about 1000 degrees with no air-con. There you go have fun!

Hotel location was perfect, close to beach, shopping, restaurants, night life. The room was very spacious, we were upgraded from a standard to 2 bedroom for no addl. charge. However the 2nd bathroom shower didn't drain properly and could have used some extra cleaning. The staff was very friendly and helpful!! I would stay here again!

It was great experience best place to be if you want to stay in playa del carmen

Had a burglary in the hotel during the day while at home on balcony in the jaccuzzi and the staff and management handled it poorly the least to say. They took all our money, computers, iPads, phones, credit cards etc and they offered no help what so ever. All though they thought it might have been an inside job they didn't nothing to help us or compensate us. I had friends buying me a ticket back home, cut my vacation short since i had nothing left and they did nothing. I wrote to them once back home and they offered me two nights for free of charge at their hotel and a dinner - A JOKE! I live in Sweden, costs me a new ticket to go out there and would not go back if they paid me money. So that someone could rob us again. Don´t think so! Choose another hotel - not staff friendly or helpful at all.

The rooms are excellent, two bedrooms with bathroom, three tvs with dvd and sky, great kitchen. Excellent location, one step away from 5a avenida. Buuuuuut, there is no phone in the rooms, have very few personnel, and not very interested in giving you the best of services, you can not charge your consumptions in restaurant, spa, beverages in pool to your room account. In review excellent hardware, very poor software.

Back 2nd time. So close to everything. Can't see staying anywhere else.

10 day vacation. Our first night we were put in a less than desirable condo. The dishwasher had been pulled out, there was no washer/dryer, and the furniture was junk. However the concierge, Sylvia, said we would have a better room available the next afternoon and, true to her word, she moved us to a beautiful 1st floor condo only one unit away from the beach. The food and service from the Wickys restraunt was incredible both beachside and to our rooms. There is no room service but the waiters would bring us breakfast to our patio and just keep the tab open until we paid up after a day on the beach. I will be going back there next year.

The condo is clean and has a lot of space, close everything.

This hotel is really nice I would say, apart from some details. - No WiFi in the room. - Don't get the included breakfast. It is in the adjacent beach club Wickys where the service is just really, really, really slow. Go to some local place and get breakfast, or just pop into Starbucks if a simple sandwich and coffee is what you want. - The beach chairs you are supposed to have access to is in a separate little part of the same beach clubs area. Good luck getting the hotel staff to get you an umbrella. Just pay 50 pesos and get the Wickys staff to do it instead. Some days it was ok, other days just impossible. Apart from these rather minor details it's clean and really nice with good staff and you can't really beat the location. You are ON the beach and 1 block away from the main street.
