great condo, services, staff and location
Staying in El Taj and the other two Condo Hotels Playa group is having the best of both worlds, a resort like setting away off from the hustle and bustle of the town center but within a five minute walk.

5th Avenida between 26 and 30th Sts is almost all Italian expat restaurants, with reasonably good food at reasonable prices at all levels, simple to grander. The Cave of the Monkey restaurant, out a bit further from 5th has undoubtedly the best real Mexican food in Playa.

Cher mais confortable
A deux, on a reservé un appt. sejour + chambre dans la partie Oceanfront (très cher) avec "view sur l'océan" , on c'est retrouvé avec un très beau appartement (sejour + 2 pieces) mais avec balcon sur la rue derrière. Quand on fait remarquer à la reception, on nous a dit qu'il n'y a pas d'autre appt. disponible... A la reservation on nous a annoncé offre speciale free Wifi; sur place l'Internet est payant. A la fin, on oublie tout car l'hotel a du charme, et c'est joli de prendre le petit dejeuner sur le sable. Faut aller à plusieurs (dans l'appt #318 qu'on a eu, il y a de la place pour 3-4 adultes et enfants, car salle de bain dans chaque chambre). Un bon plan pourra etre de reserver dans un autre propriété Taj (Porto Playa, ou Beachside, Maya Villa etc) ou Mosquito, qui sont dans le meme coin mais sensiblement moins chers, et vous avez toujours accès à la plage. Faut noter que c'est un condo, et le plus genant c'est que la plage est géré par un prestataire externe (Indigo). Donc, vous avez droit d'aller sur la plage sans charge, mais vous allez etre pris d'assaut par le personnel du prestataire qui a comme seul objectif de vous faire commander sans arret car sinon pas de service fee etc. C'est ennuyeux, en plus ce ne sont pas des jeunes souriants aimables etc - mais des pères de famille 40-50 ans, avec l'air crispé. Ca fait reflechir sur un pays - et sur vous meme en tant que touriste, par ailleurs - ou des hommes dans la plenitude de leurs capacités mentales et physiques (derière on peut imaginer la femme à la maison et 3-4 enfants) gagnent leur vie en poussant des matelas sur la plage et en vous apportant des cocktails à 10€ (plus service fee 15%, qu'ils vous ajoutent eux-memes à la main sur les notes de restaurant) , au lieu de travailler qq chose.... desolant et penible.

Qualité €€: Argentina Steak House sur Av.5; Quailité et classe €€€: Mosquito Blue Ambiance, live music, €: Fusion (sur la plage direction Sud). Sinon la cuisine de l'appt, vous avez tout ce qu'il faut (vous pouvez acheter des choses à Oxxo à 300m; sinon Wallmart ~1km, faut revenir en taxi 50 Pesos / 3 €). A éviter la plupart des restaurants Av.5, c'est du n'importe quoi.
