Its limits are northbound, by the states of Puebla and Veracruz, eastbound, by the states of Chiapas and westbound by the states of Guerrero. The famous and beautiful beaches of Huatulco and Puerto Escondido are found in Oaxaca.
The city of Oaxaca is located on a 45 minute flight or 4.5 hour trip by car from Mexico city. It offers a breathtaking view of the ancient city of Oaxaca it´s only a short trip to the airport, or to the archaeological sites of Monte Alban and Mitla.

This hotel has the best view of Oaxaca, its not near the center of town but for 40 pesos you can go to the center. I have stayed at the Fortin Plaza which is another fantastic hotel but I would return to Hotel Victoria.

Older but well maintained and spotlessly clean hotel with a helpful and responsive staff. Perfect views of the city, great pool. Was upgraded to a Junior suite which was nice but can relate to others comments about "3 hotels in 1". Shuttle service was a major plus. Bar/Restaurant were well priced and acceptable but not outstanding. All things considered would definately recommend and return to this hotel.

Great Hotel!
Everything about the hotel was great! The one downside is that it's not in the city center. They take care of this by having a free shuttle to downtown and back though!

Our 2nd Stay at Hotel Victoria in Oaxaca
We've stayed there before and liked it. The maids forgot to give us enough towels for the guests in the room, 3 days in a row. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. It is an older hotel and there are a number of items that could be repaired, screws tightened, etc, but we enjoyed it much. We would go back.

The pool was great. Location was ok, just outside of town. Service was a mix of excellent to mediocre. Biggest complaint is noise. All of the doors made a really loud sound when they closed. Someone tied a dog outside one night, and the dog barked all night long. There were two free internet terminals, which was great, except that during our four day stay two children staying at the hotel monopolized both of them for two whole days.

Hotel Victoria
I love this hotel and I have stayed there before. The people who work there are wonderful. The food, especially breakfast, is Oaxacan. The pool is huge and uncrowded. The open air bar and restaurant with spectacular view are the best part.

very pleasant but not stellar
everyone was very courteous, the food was quite good, and the room was lovely. i would stay there again, though i was a little dismayed by how spread out the "campus" is-- i do prefer a building that's a single unit as the chateau style units make it hard to move around if you're someone who has trouble walking or anything like that. also it is quite far from the center although their shuttle service was totally reliable. the broken equipment in the room was fixed right away but still it was annoying having to deal with that at all.
