Amazing vacaion

We enjoyed our whole vacation here except the sales presentation. The food was decent. We stayed for 9 days so after a while it seemed to be the same thing. I enjoyed the pool but the beach was hard to enjoy with constant vendors. Overall we loved IG and are planning another trip to thus and other hard rock hotels.

Great resort over all

Best service. Plenty of chair at the beach. Food selection can be improved for breakfast and lunch. Over all is great. Free internet and free call are a plus to us. Resort credit prices are too high. We didn't use all tax credit because of the 20% tax.

Paying for the name, Expected More, Poor Customer Service

Overall our trip was average. This was our family vacation and attended a wedding there. We booked our shuttle through the hotel. Because our flight was delayed and we arrived later than expected, the shuttle didn't pick us up. It was $120 for party of 4. $30 roundtrip. We were able to take a taxi to the hotel for $25 dollars one way. This was coordinated through the airport so it was fixed and we knew we weren't getting ripped off. This was much cheaper than the hotel rate. Was disapointed that the shuttle wasn't there since we did provided flight information and all. Was glad they didn't show up since it cost us less. Arrived to our hotel about 12 pm. and checked in. Got settled and unpacked. We have two kids 10 and 7. I used the restroom and it was clogged. Called maintenance and they came and unplugged it. It smelled our room, but we were settled after our 8 hour delay at the airport. At no time did they ask if we wanted to change rooms. There was only one coordinator scheduling excursions. We waited a half hour. The hotel food choices are average. Very limited. Alcohol was average. Didn't have premium alcohol except at the main bar which was inside. Our ledger came and the shuttle charge of $120 was on there. I had to call and have them remove the charge. I was never given an apology for the shuttle not being there. They told me it was a partner vendor since I told them they never showed up and I was taking to the front desk. It's still a reflection on the hotel. The night prior to our departure our toilet flooded again. My husband called maintenance and they came and unplugged it again. I mentioned that we were there for a wedding. Over 150 guest booked at this hotel. The bride and groom had $1,000 dollars stolen from her purse. Our friends said that their restrooms smelled like sewer . During our check out I asked if they could do anything for me since our toilet clogged twice. . The agent said no. I asked for a manager. The manager on site, took me to a VIP room were I wasn't treated like a VIP. Told her my situation and she said because I was leaving she couldn't do anything for me. She also said that her maintenance report was showing only one incident and was basically calling me a liar. She asked why I didn't request a change of room. This happened at check in and check out. I was appalled. She said she could buy us a nice dinner or a bottle (it's all inclusive), but because we were leaving she couldn't do anything. We spent $3,300 dollars not pesos to stay there and she coudn't offer me a thing. She wasted an hour of my time. Because of this I would never go to another Hard Rock property or would recommend this location. You are paying for the name and not the quality of service. The hotel changed two years ago to the Hard Rock so it's new. I've stayed in Puerto Vallarta at The Barcelo and it was a much better experience overall all. Food, beach, location everything. Before you choose to come here, there are much better resorts for the price you will spend here.

Big disappointment

As a couple we travelled to Hard Rock PV for a wedding from 6/19/14 - 6/22/14 and we were very much disappointed in the experience considering we spent $2300. The facility was average, can easily see it has some years on it. We found a dead cockroach in our room one morning which I find unacceptable! The bathroom drain had a terrible odor coming from it after every use and when it got really hot. The beach itself was not impressive, the sand was soft and the waters very mild however trash easily seen on the beach on the property and adjacent beaches. Beach chairs are old and with the trash seem unappealing. Food was okay, nothing special and vey standard fare. The resort credit provided was good in using for ziplining tour however we only had one other option, very limited activities you could use the credit for so overall more annoyed that it was there with nothing to spend it on!

Good for first trip.

We haven't been away before so we can only compare it to hotels in California. I would say it is not a five star hotel. Room was scarce and food was buffet. Almost ll the time. Service made up for it and by the end of the trip I would say we were satisfied. Don't except exceptional accommodations.

Relaxing stay for young couple

I have never been on a trip to Mexico, and my girlfriend has never been out of the country. I wanted to make sure we went to a nice place, all-inclusive for cost, convenience and safety, and that she wouldn't be turned away from traveling internationally (which I would like to do more of in the future). We went over our college's "Spring Break." This is Puerto Vallarta's dry season, so we didn't have any rain. This doesn't mean the weather was uncomfortable, though. It was perfect vacation weather. But about the hotel. The room was ready to go when we checked in. SUPER comfy King-sized bed, soft sheets, next to a jacuzzi. Each day it was cleaned very well. The four restaurants were awesome for dinner. The only thing I would wish is that there were more breakfast/lunch options; the buffet was the only option really for both. The Resort Credit was also nice, allowing us to do a bunch of cool activities for under $100 total each. I would definitely like to go back. The only thing I wish we could have done more is go into the city of Puerto Vallarta; Nuevo Vallarta is like a 20 minute drive from the old city.
