beautiful beach, excellent service

Lovely, quiet all-inclusive hotel located on a gorgeous stretch of beach... you can walk for miles to the north, all the way to the town of Bucerias, if you have the stamina. Lore and Patricio provided excellent service at the poolside.

Great everything

Our experience was nothing but good; amenities, food, service etc. I have a couple of complaints that prevent a 5-star rating: 1) Alcohol was by the glass only; so no ordering a bottle of champagne while sitting in the jacuzzi. Same for wine with dinner, although getting your glasses refilled is not a problem! 2) Spa services are ridiculously priced. Why would I pay 50% more for a massage in Mexico than what I would pay in the US or Canada? Absurd. But if you can live with that, you'll have an amazing stay.

Great vacation!!

Little things always happen, bathroom light out, need more towels, waiting for more coffee, etc. But these are small things and you run into them anywhere, you call and it's fixed. The main thing is the vacation was wonderful!!!!!!

Good vacation deal

The staff and the room were excellent. Food was very good, although Oceana was by far the best. Was not to happy with the tv. Only had 3 or 4 channels in english and hardly any sports channels. Would like to have had more to watch, especially since there is hardly any night life after 11 pm, with the exception of the sky bar. This resort would be top notch if there was a night club that stayed open late and some form of activities during the day. Had to leave the resort in order to have some adult fun. ADD A NIGHT CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will go back to that part of Mexico, and if this resort upgrades its entertainment, I will stay there again. If not, I will stay at one of the other resort that is known for its night life

Great place for our first family vacation

Upon arriving the hotel looked great. We noticed great security and we were immediately given a couple refreshing drinks. We were then escorted to the registration desk for check in. Check in was quick and easy and very very helpful. The stay was amazing even though it rained in the evening. Now this can not all be perfect, we did have some bad experiences with a couple of the watiers and the some of the "welcoming staff"? Lets start off with the staff. Most were very helpful and curtious but at times were a little pushy when it came to signing you up for a tour and free breakfast for their "Vacation Club" membership. A little less pushyness and it would have been great. We also had a run in with a head waiter that was rude and told us to go to another restaurant that would be faster. I understand a recommendation of shorter wait times but being told to pretty much go away because he was overwhelmed was ridiculous. To top it off he was trying to send us to a seafood restaurant when we were waiting for the steak resataurant. The in room satelitte entertainment was out when any amount of rain seemed to fall but on the brighter side... they do offer DVD's you can barrow which came in handy for my son during the rain. Over all, it was a nice hotel

If heading into downtown Puerto Vallarta... DO NOT GO UNTIL THE AFTERNOON OR EVENING!! The temperature during the day felt like you are walking in the sun. There is alot of history and ambience there but would be much more enjoyable during the cooler temps.

First Trip to Mexico

This was my first experience in Mexico and the staff was always friendly and anxious to help with any of my concerns. The pools were refreshing and clean and I always had an ice cold beverage in hand. The only negative I would say was the constant hounding by local vendors on the hotel beach. I was surprised at how many hispanic families were there and I was definitely a minority guest, which actually played well into the adventure of being in another country. The food was good and there was plenty of variety but seemed more run of the mill and less authentic than I was hoping for. Overall I would recommend this hotel, the staff more than made up for any shortcomings there might have been.

Bucerias is a small town by the resort and for less than 5 dollars you can experience excellent authentic food and be immersed in the Mexican culture. Definitely worth the taxi fare!

Good Bang for the Buck

Pros: friendly staff, big room with nice bathroom, cleanliness, multiple beautiful pools, clean beach, abundant beach and pool chairs (didnt have to rush to save one ever), good restaurant food w/ good variety. Cons: There werent any major cons. A few small gripes were wifi was spotty and room service food could of been a little better. The night entertainment was ok but was geared more for kids.

5year anniversary = amazing at Dreams Resort Villa Magna

We arrived at Dreams with smiles and warm hospitality... Minutes later a cold refreshing mimosa, my wife's favorite. We checked in, and since there was availability, we upgraded to ocean front view (no other way to go- trust me). We went straight to the pool, had drinks and got ready for dinner. Lots of options and service was very prompt and precise. We must of gained 10-12pds of nothing but amazing food and drinks. We are in great shape but one has to live a little and so this was our time o just enjoy. The captains at Oceana and Portofino were there serving us han ad foot. ***all thy want to do is serve you and make you feel as if you are home away from home*** we travel to Mexico 2-3times year, and we tend to stay in Nuevo Vallarta, but Dreams in Nuevo Vallarta did so much for my wife and I in the nice of service and friendliness that we are planning to come back with our three children and in-laws so they get to experience what we got to experience. You will not regret staying here, we DO NOT OWN A TIME SHARE OR CONDO HERE, so it's all non-biased testimonial. It's what you make out of your stay while you're there that will determine the value hat you received. - gracias Dreams Villa Magna for everything. See you guys soon

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

We took the local bus for two (wife and I) and paid $1.70 with another connection of $2.30 to go into the Malicon / downtown = $4.00 x 2 for round trip was $8.00 US, instead of $23 one way and $20 back on taxi. Plus, one has a chance to experience more culture.
