Hotel de la Soledad, Morelia, MX
Hotel was centrally located, near the Cathedral and all historic locations. The hotel was clean, well maintained and had a friendly attentive staff. Morelia was interesting and would be worth a trip back to absorb more of the colonial history. There was less English spoken or printed there but all were friendly and helpful.

Restaurant Mirasoles, Avenida Madero Pte #549 was very good, excellent service and beautiful decor. Restaurant La Casa del Portal, Guillermo Prieto #30 (upstairs) was also good. There is a rooftop bar and dance floor(?) overlooking the plaza on the upper floor.

Beatiful hotel in a magnficent city.
Authentic coloniel hotel one block from main street. Less noisy from car noise than the other hotels on the main street. However, the lighting in the rooms was bad, Could not read or shave properly. Thy arranged a private trip to Patscuaro with English speaking guide at a very reasonable rate. Includes American breakfast.

Wow!
This place was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend it for couples as it's very romantic. If you want a classic hacienda style experience this is it. Like stepping back in time but with modern conveniences like free wifi in the stunning courtyard. The service was exceptional and that includes every one of the staff. And the staff speaks fluent English. All this plus a great location makes this a 5 star in my opinion.

The hotel restaurant serves delicious food al fresco in the patio. The breakfast and lunch were wonderful. I recommend the pollo a la capilla, kind of like cordon blue.

Central Morelia Classic
One block from the central square, and with super staff and a beautiful courtyard, this is one hotel we will return to. Only setback, no room heat, and Morelia at New Years can be really cold. They did supply extra blankets, which, with truly comfortable matresses helped. If you do not like bells, bring earplugs, the Cathedral is only three block away, and noisy from 6am to midnight.

Just up Madero past the "Sweets Market" is Marisoles (try steak "Dona Mary"), and, around the corner, Fonda La Mercedes (trout florentine). Wow!
