Hotel Catedral
We were only there to sleep, and the Hotel Catedral was more than sufficient in that aspect. Our room was quiet and cooled off quickly with a wall mounted Tran air conditioner. It was not possible to leave the windows open and that was disappointing. The bedding was crisp and clean and the bed was supportive and comfortable. Some of our lights were burnt out upon arrival and that took a couple of complaints to get that fixed. The water pressure in the shower was so relaxing, but the shower door seemed poorly designed because it opened out and it was hard to step onto a dry bath mat without pushing it across the floor. The hotel looked as if it had recently undergone a nice renovation and was very clean. I don't think you can go wrong on the Avenida Madero in Morelia. Upon leaving the hotel, we had a pristine view of the Catedral and the the Plaza de Armas. Bella!!

Very comfortable and well situated.
Very comfortable and nice clean rooms. Is close for many types of entertainment and a variety of meals. The cafe downstairs is a nice place to enjoy a meal and enjoy the sidewalk dining to watch the pedestrians and various festivals across the street at Morelia park. Their are many nice places to shop or enjoy a coffee.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Walking east you can enjoy a nice meal at VIPS, very reasonable and family style dining, If you should need any necessities, there is a Woolworths 2 doors West. Sanborns is also a nice place to enjoy a meal (3rd floor) West of the hotel about 4 blocks there are many shops where you can find various souveniers. There is usually some activity to enjoy at Morelia Park in the evening hours.

Great Place to Stay in Morelia!
We were so lucky to get a great room on the Cathedral side of the hotel! We had our own terrace with a wonderful view of the Cathedral and square. The room was attractively decorated, the beds very comfortable with high quality linens. Front desk male receptionist was fluent in English and very helpful. Female receptionist could not speak English and didn't seem too interested in being helpful. Other staff were very helpful and gave us lots of information on what to see and do in the city. Try to be there on SATURDAY NIGHT for the lighting of the Catherdral, beautifully organised and very moving with music, singing, fireworks, history of Morelia and the lighting of the Cathedral - an experience to be enjoyed and remembered!

The location is excellent! Right
The location is excellent! Right in the heart of Morelia's downtown area. Our double room had a nice size, the beds were very comfortable and our balcony was great. Our room attendant was super nice, she took great care of us, making sure to come by late so we could sleep in. This is by far my favorite hotel in Morelia so far (I've stayed in several around the area), and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting this wonderful city.

This is the best location I found for the price and level. I really miss the swimming pool in the morning but forgot about it at night when we took some walks outdoors.

Not the best hotel I've stayed
I went to Morelia for a friend's wedding and I have reserved 2 rooms. The check in at the hotel was at 1 o'clock. I arrived at the hotel by 4 o'clock and my rooms weren't ready. So, they made me wait like 15 minutes in the check in process and gave me only one room, the other one, wasn't ready until 6 o'clock! The street where the hotel is located was completely closed on saturday, it was a completely madness to get to it, then on sunday, for a different reason the streed was closed too, the same madness to get away from there, that is very common on weekends, so the location of the Hotel is not exactly a plus. The Hotel sells itself as a Hotel with parking lot. It is totally a lie. They work with a parking lot nearby, and you have to pay it extra, but that´s not all. The parking lot, closes at 2:30 am, EVERYDAY. So, if you want your car to be safe, you have to arrive there early, 'cause nobody, in the hotel or the parking lot guarantee the safety of your car, even at the front or side doors of the Hotel. I wouldn't say at all that is a four stars Hotel, not at all.
