Bad Experience
This was my second- and last- stay at this hotel. They checked me into a room which appeared to be clean, but I soon learned that the phone did not work, the safe was locked shut, the bathroom was not supplied properly and worst of all, the bed had been made but the sheets were not changed after the previous guest left. I was moved to a second room the next day and they did not record it, so it was not cleaned after I left in the morning. No one ever apologized nor was I given any credit. And by the way, forget about accessing the Internet while you are there. There is no connectivity despite what they advertise.

Great location and value, poor upkeep
Mexico City is a great place and Suites Del Angel puts you right in the action. My wife and I stayed 9 days and were able to walk to most attractions. Nearby are dozens of great restaurants, national monuments, theaters, museums, parks, and shopping. The Sevilla metro station is also nearby, granting you cheap and fast transportation to the Zocalo, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Palacio Nacional, airport, and the light train and bus station that take you to Xochimilco and Teotihuacan, respectively. However, I did have some concerns regarding maintenance and furnishings. If you require cleanliness you may consider looking elsewhere. While the maids did a good job of cleaning our room, we were given stained bedding several times. The top comforter had multiple highly-visible stains that must have been simply ignored for a long time. The furnishings including the couches, TVs, etc are quite old and worn. A bonus was free Wi-Fi although we had a weak and at times unreliable signal in our room. Overall, the hotel is a great value. Be prepared to ask for new bedding and you will enjoy n affordable place to stay where you can enjoy all that the great city has to offer.

The Uruguayan restaurant a block away from the hotel (exit the hotel and turn left - it is on the left on the same street) makes great pizzas fast and cheap in its wood-fired brick oven. Delicious!

Great place, great location.
Attended a Gay wedding in Mexico City. Celebrated the Bicentenial of Mexican Independence. This hotel is great place to stay. It is right near the American Embassy and Paseo de la Reforma and Angel. The artsy neighborhood of Amberes is within walking distance with all it's night-life. The hotel is situated in an upscale neighborhood with many different types of restaurants. Although, I spoke Spanish to the hotel staff, I heard them speak in fluent English to other guests. Except for the ugly orange colored funiture in the living room (so 90's) this hotel is equivalent in service to a 5 star one. The rooms and closet space are emence. I would go back and I do recommend it to everone who asks me about a good place to stay in Mexico City.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to Amberes St and Florencia for great restaurants besides the ones on the street of the hotel (Rio Lerma) Amberes is like the Village and Chelsea in NYC. Lots of people watching!!

Good deal for the price
The rooms are spacious and clean. The room had a few minor areas that needed maintenance (like a crooked cabinet door, etc), but nothing major. The location is excellent, right in the zona rosa area. I prepaid for the room through [...], but when I checked in I was asked to sign a voucher authorizing them to charge Pesos $500 (USD $42) to my credit card for incidentals. I was very annoyed by this requirement since every other hotel just simply requests an imprint of your card. I protested it, and after a long discussion, they removed the charge.

Hidden Gem of Mexico
This is one of the hidden gems of the city. It's a block or 2 to Zona Rosa minus the traffic. Late night taco stand is open just around the corner. Staff in general are pleasant but only a few could converse in some English. The door slams by itself in the bedroom. The bathroom has a jacuzzi but water is slow to fill the tub. Made arrangement for a late check out the day before and found out my room has been locked out when I came back from a short trip on the last day. Obviously, no communication existed between the late nite staff and am staff.

Better name would be "Suites Del Hell"
No towels. Wall electrical sockets don't work. They charge 25 pesos for a small bottle of drinking water. It's illegal for a hotel not to supply drinking water if the tap water is not potable. Had to go out to OXXO to buy drinking water. Hotel taxi charged double what a regular cab cost to get to business meeting and took double the time it took to return in a registered cab. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
