Offer Layover Discounts... Get 5 Stars.
I only stayed for one night so paying over $100 for a layover sleep seemed a bit steep. But the hotel itself was perfect. The staff were 5 star. The rooms were very clean and had every ammenity to relax. FREE WiFi. That's huge for me. Thank you. Best part... there's an awesome local food cart right across the street serving up hot delicious local food.

Avoid This Hotel
Pre-Paid for this room [...]. Charged dinner in hotel restaurant to my room. Several hours later the waiter is knocking at my door, then calling my room, upset. I did not have a 'credit' with the front desk, so I had to immediately pay in cash or credit card for my meal. Other hotels in Mexico have wanted to put a 'hold' on a sizable amount on my credit card just in case I charged something to your room, but this option was not offered here. However, I have never been roused from sleep and demanded that I immediately pay for a meal. Given very legitimate overall security concerns in Mexico, this invasion of privacy is absolutely unacceptable.

This hotel was terrible
First off, the hotel was overbooked, and after arriving at 1230am, I was informed by the manager and desk staff that all double rooms were overbooked, leaving only a single king bed for me and my business partner. This was completely unacceptable for business purposes, and they were also unwilling to compensate for giving someone else my room and wasting my time.

No sleep for you!
We arrived close to 1:30 am, and did not know how to call for the shuttle as there were no shuttle phones like at other North American airports. A very kind AeroMexico pilot offered to call the hotel for us on his mobile, and while it was ringing the shuttle drove by. The police flagged him down for us, and we were relieved. At the hotel, they did not have our reservation. Luckily, I had a print-out of the reservation, which the supervisor asked to keep. They gave us an interior room (no window, just non-opening frosted glass with light outside of it) two double beds, but we had paid for a king-size bed. Even though I wondered how I would ever get out of the hotel room should there be a fire in the hallway, I decided not to try and switch rooms due to the time, and knowing it would take too much precious sleep time to try and straighten things out. I fell asleep around 2:15 am, and around 2:30 I awoke to sudden silence (rather than soft humming) and realized the power went out! This happened two more times throughout the night with the last one at 6:30 am, which sounded three louds whistles! Rolling over for a few more winks, shortly thereafter, my wake up call came, 45 minutes early. I didn't say a word to my wakeup person about being too early even though I barely slept all night, as there is no point in doing so. This was Mexico, after all, and you have to accept that this is the way it is. For this reason, I would have trouble comparing it to other hotels in Mexico City because generally they do not have our same standards; however,I will never overnight in Mexico City again. Otherwise, the hotel seemed clean, but the towels and sheets were dingy white, and needed replacing. The breakfast and its servers were excellent. In the morning, one driver told us that he wouldn't take us to the aiport when we wanted to, but would have to wait and extra 40 minutes. Suddenly, another driver appeared and took us right away. So in summary, some staff are nice and helpful, others do not care. Overall, I was not impressed, and unless Mexico learns to treat their tourists a little bit better, they will lose tourism dollars.

Check that the type of room you are getting is the same as your reservation, ie: king sized bed, and ask if it has a window that opens.

Ramada a comfortable, secure, refuge ...
Was a great location, easy to use airport shuttle, most of the staff were semi-bilingual which is a great bonus..... if you are going to eat in their resturant I'd advise the day shift, the evening waiter seemed untrained, distracted and almost as if he didn't want to be bothered. but aside from that it was a great stay nice room with a view of the airport............

Great hotel near Mexico City Airport
We needed a hotel near the airport to stay for a night, and so booked with the Ramada Aeropuerto Mexico which is very close and cheaper than Hotel Camino Real (the one right across from the airport) and the Fiesta Inn. Our flighted landed at 11.45pm and once we cleared customs we phoned the hotel and they dispatched a shuttle which arrived in about 15-20 minutes. The ride to the hotel took about 3-5 minutes. The driver was very polite and courteous. The receptionist was similarly very courteous and helpful. For example, we had not eaten anything and were hungry, but there were no close restaurants that were open. When we approached the receptionist about finding something to eat in the area, he arranged over the phone with a 24 hr convenience store to deliver sandwiches and drinks to the hotel, and they were brought right to our room. We were not charged a premium or extra fees for this, as the sandwiches, snacks, and drinks for the two of us came out to less than less US$10. The room was a good size, and clean. The washroom and shower were likewise clean and spacious. Also, even though the hotel is close to the airport, the room was extremely quiet, and we did not hear any noise from the jets taking off or landing, or the streets below. Internet connection is available via wi-fi free of charge throughout the hotel, and the quality of the connection was quiet good (fast). We slept in so missed breakfast, but nonetheless were told that the hotel provides a breakfast buffet until 11 am free of charge for guests. Overall a great hotel, and would definitely stay here again.
