Great location

I forgot my ATM card at an automated teller machine in the lobby of the hotel Melia, and someone took it and used it to commit fraud. There were no video cameras near teller machine.

Great Hotel but beware of phone charges

BEWARE OF CHARGES FOR LOCAL CALLS -- they charge you by the minute and it is not cheap!! no one told us about these charges. Other than that, our overall experience was excellent. Centrally located on Reforma, quick access to restaurants and world class museums. The staff was very attentive and efficient, in particular Israel Perez Martinez at the front desk, who excels at customer service, very efficient, always greets you with a smile and remembers your name. Rooms are very clean, well appointed and maintained, beds are comfortable. Internet acces needs improvement as it is at times spotty.

There is a Sanborn's store 1/2 block from the hotel, it is a combination gift shop, photo shop, bookstore, pharmacy, bakery, and restaurant/bar. It closes at 1:00am - food is good and well priced. Other items can be more expensive here but you are paying for convenience. From the Hotel's front door, go to your right, it's at the corner of Reforma and Lafragua street. For bottled water, soft drinks and snacks there is a convenience store behind the hotel, exit through the hotel's back door, it is right across the street.

Good overall value

The main disappointment was the fact that absolutely NO internet service is included anywhere on the property without an additional charge; AND IT'S NOT CHEAP. Even the lobby had no Wi-Fi. I thought this was ridiculous now a days for a hotel of this caliber. Secondly the restaurant food and service was no more than average, but expensive. The room and public areas were great and everything worked well. I would do it again and hope they will provide at least public area Wi-Fi.

Centrally located... Great spot!!!

The check-in/check-out process was fast and simple. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Made me feel as if I was at home. The hotel has great amenities. Definitely order room service for breakfast. Location and views were out of this world. Close to Bellas Artes and Zona Rosa. You can take the bus on Reforma and cruise down to all museums and Chapultepec park. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was the fact that you have to pay for wi-fi. Really? I mean most hotels include it, specially if you are a 4 star hotel. Aside from that, best metropolis I've visited by far. Definitely a must!!! We will definitely be back.

Good but needs remodeling

the hotel is great! The location is perfect, and you have fast access to historically acclaimed museums, plazas, and other memorable places. Nevertheless, the hotel needs to be remodeled. The carpet is dirty and old as is the tv. Other than that it makes for a perfect vacation spot.

Melia Hotel - Reforma very nice hotel

This is a very nice hotel - clean, centrally located, well appointed, helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was very nice with many options to choose from. My only complaint is the "queen" size beds were not really queen size, they are closer to a full. This is really too small for two grown adults. Other than that, we were very happy with this hotel, service, food and ammenities. Many of the staff spoke English.
