Great location and comfortable hotel!

Would recommend Sun, Nov 29, 2015
The hotel is in the historic district and within walking distance of pretty much everything I wanted to see. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel will be going through renovations in 2016 to get ready for the 400th anniversary of the hotel in 2020. Will be going back to see it once but is done!

Just OK... but thats OK too

Would recommend Tue, Oct 20, 2015
Very simple, limited hotel. Good value for money in a strategic place in town. Lots of personality, reliable internet connection, helpful staff. Now, don't stay here if: having an onsite gym is important (there isn't one), might want to order room-service food at night(restaurant closes at 5:00 PM Sunday-Thursday), expect breakfast to be included (it's cheap though), and/or want to watch TV in your room (very limited amount of channels). Depending on all of the above, you could really like this place or plain dislike it.

Great value, beautiful bathroom!

Would recommend Tue, Jul 28, 2015
I only stayed here for one night while passing through Mexico City, but I thought it was a good value for the price. The layout is a bit strange and it was eerily quiet the night I was there, but it's very clean, the rooms are nice, the bathrooms are exceptional and the staff is friendly.

Retirement Mexico trip

Would recommend Wed, Nov 19, 2014
Lovely old colonial building, tastefully restored. Very friendly helpful staff. Only downside was the noise; initially from St Jude's day, then from the rooftop bar which had loud music till 2 am. Bring your ear plugs!

Dining

Cafe de Tacuba, great traditional Mexican food, interesting tiled decor, and a Mexican band to entertain you

Nice Place

Would recommend Mon, Apr 7, 2014
Great Value. Good walking distance to Downtown. Staff manager who controls upstairs rooftop lounge tried to tell us that we could not sit without a reservation - this was not true. Otherwise, nice quite, place. Good food. A/C in room could have been more efficient. We will return.

Awesome location

Would recommend Thu, Jan 2, 2014
Loved this place. Our room was small but had everything we needed. The bathroom was gorgeous. The best thing about this hotel was the location-- just a quick walk through a gorgeous city park to the historic city center.

Attractions

Don't miss the National Cathedral, the zocalo & the lovely park across the street from the hotel.

Very good value

Would recommend Fri, Dec 13, 2013
I went on a business trip to Mexico city and stayed at this hotel for two nights it is well located, the staff was friendly, the room was comfortable. Did have any issues with street noise because I stayed on a first floor room with no windows to the exterior just to the inside.

Time saver

Right by subway station which is probably the best way to move around in Mexico city.

Nice hotel with great service

Would recommend Sun, Nov 3, 2013
Great staff, all very helpful. Beautiful modern rooms in a colonial building. The location is not bad, but it is too noisy arounf the hotel, try to get a room in the back. Mini bar is not replaced daily, and resturant and room service menus are very limited..

The hotel is nice but has the worst staff

Would not recommend Mon, Sep 9, 2013
I arrived to the hotel at 2:00 PM after a long trip, the hotel was obviously not full and they still would not give us a room until 3:00. You can tell the room was ready because the hotel has a central patio and all the rooms are visible. No one came out of any of the rooms and they still made us wait. Every single member in the hotel wanted to make extra money on every occasion they had it got really annoying. My wife asked the concierge for a hair salon near by and they said nothing was available, they made us choose the one they offered. They gave us an estimate, my wife had the service and then they wanted to charge twice what they initially said. The people from the hair salon told me their shop was located 1 block away from the hotel, they walked to the hotel and the bell boy wanted to charge $50 dollars for a taxi. They were trying to steal money in every chance they had. When I checked out they had additional charges made in the bar that I did not consume, they were very rude about it, I demanded to see my signature on the tickets and refused to pay for drinks and food I did not have. They finally subtracted that from the bill but again they wanted to charge extra fees and extra money for everything. Overall terrible service and hospitality. The hotel is located in downtown Mexico CIty it is nice around there for a historic tour, the only negative part is that on Sunday we could not get a taxi because all the streets were closed. That made it even worse.
