Elegant hotel combines history with modern amenities

This historic hotel opened in 1904 by and has hosted a number VIP guests in its day. Much of the history is showcased in a collection of photos displayed in the Golden Dome cafeteria. Vestiges of its past are reflected in the ornate French 19th-century-style architecture. A prime location on the Paseo de la Reforma makes Hotel Imperial Reforma ideal for visitors who wish to explore some of the Mexican capital's important sites.

They could make it be excellent

Hotel location is great. Building exterior is beautiful, historic, and not being a tall building is good and safe in Mexico City. They have all the services that one can need. Safe box, great cafeteria and outstanding restaurant. Internet is very, very slow though. The worst detail ? Not clean. Bed had hairs and signs to have been used by previous guests. Awful! And hairs in bathtub as well. Not nice at all. We arrive so late and tired that couldn't start to argue at that moment. Beds are hard and not comfortable, but maybe an investment difficult to reach for the money you pay? I would recommend the hotel if the management leads the employees to be more conscious of the relation service-client satisfaction-income. Or maybe that is the point, maybe they are not paid fairly. The hotel is a jewel, but need to be polished by offering a more professional service, dedication, specially to cleaning, and smiles, smiles, kindness to whom they owe having an income. They have a lot of competence with so many hotels in the area.

Imperial Reforma

Enjoyed our stays at the Imperial. Right on Reforma. Metro stop at Juarez is just a short walk away. Hotel about 100 yrs old but nicely remodeled. Neighborhood 'feels' safe. Bath tubs require you to take a giant step up to get in. Front desk and service personell friendly and competent. Check out the surprising little jewelry shop in the lobby. Unique, reasonable, and made in Mexico.

Take a short walk down Madera to the clean (but ancient) Habana Cafe for reasonable breakfast menu.

Decent accomodations for the money

Staff was polite and helpful. The location was convenient to downtown and Metro transit; and taxis were always available at the hotel (don't use the VW Bug taxis!). Rooms were decent, though they only used 25W bulbs in the lamps. We went out and purchased 100W bulbs to brighten the room. Though the hotel was quiet, the noise from traffic was sometimes a problem. After staying in some hotels in smaller towns, this place felt like luxury. I'd stay here again, if going to Mexico City.

Excelent Location for the price

This Hotel is located in the center of mexico city principal avenue,(Reforma) in the middle of the most expensive hotel's,you can walk to the down town and mayor atractions from here, historic sites,(zocalo, museums, templo mayor, chapultepec, archeologic museums, parks etc.) a lot of policemen on the streets watching security. If you go to do bussines or vacation, this is the area to stay. The only thing I did not like from this hotel is that is not updated, old TV's, old carpet, old furniture... In the other hand, the front desk people are polite and ready to take care of you, amoung with the bell boys, and valet parking guys. This is and old beatifull building,in the middle of the new modern hotels... For the price, the location, the area, I can sacrifice a little vit of confort..
