Good OLD Hotel, great location low price

I have stayed at this hotel in the past, it is an old hotel, but it is clean and the location is excellent, on Reforma Avenue close to many venues, museums, Restaurants, etc. My only complaint before was that the internet was slow to nonexistant, but they have fixed it and it worked just fine (No extra charge). Restaurant on premise is good and moderately priced.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Bellas Artes Theater is a short walk distance from the Hotel. The Zocalo is a little farther, but still walking distance. Check the current events taking place at the Zocalo, tipical Mexican events vary with the season and time of year

Could have been worse

The Hotel has beautiful outside architecture, great restaurant but rooms are really old, they seem that never been updated from the 70s. They all come with a/c but it doesn't work (we were moved to another room and were provided with a fan). Old TV and you are lucky if you get a remote control. The Buffet it's amazing and its location is superb. Good idea if you are planning not to enjoy the hotel.

"Unbeatable location for the price".

I go two or three times a year to Mexico City and the Imperial Hotel my favorite, either when I go with my family *children and grandchildren or on business. The food is excelent and the service and cleanliness are great. The baths are kind of small compared with newer hotels but they are OK. Some rooms, when the hotel is packed, are small and the twin beds are too closed for comfort, but if you are lucky and get one of the "normal" double rooms they are compared to some junior suites of other hotels. The price is great and the location can't be better. You can walk to the Palace of Fine Arts or walk a few more blocks and be in the heart of Mexico City's historical quarters. On the oposite direction you can take a bus or a taxi and in a matter of few minutes to be in the Zoo or numerous and famous museums.

Mexico City is very safe to go and enjoy, specially if you go as a "normal" tourist and stay away of bars and table-dance locations.

love this place

A great blend of old and new, great value. Located half way between park and zocolo. Restaurants are a little pricey, wifi now works great. We will be back.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Mexico city has great street shopping with good prices. If you wait to shop in other parts of the country you won't find the selection or good price.

Good hotel with good location

This is a great hotel for those travelers who like a city hotel with a good comfortable rooms, great location at a very good price and doesn't care for the extra hotel amenities (such as pool, sauna or a gym). The hotel is within walking distance to the "Zona Rosa" and "Centro Historico" as well as the subway (metro Hidalgo). The area around was safe for walking during the day and night. The staff was very helpful. For those light sleepers there is some noise coming from the avenues around but it's located in the heart of the city so noise it's expected. It's an old fashioned hotel so they still use metal keys for doors and safe deposit box.

Good location, fair price - old/good

This is an old Hotel, located on Paseo de la Reforma, the age shows, but it is clean and comfortable, large rooms, good showers, beds are so,so. small fridge in the room, convenient and safe area of the city.
